NHL Wednesday Night: Top Betting Picks and Parlay Insights

New York Rangers at Tampa Bay Lightning

The Rangers (8-7-2) and Lightning (8-5-2) square off at 7 p.m. ET at Amalie Arena in Tampa on TNT and HBO Max.

The Blueshirts finally got the monkey off of their backs with a 6-3 win at home against the Nashville Predators, after going 0-6-1 in the first seven games at Madison Square Garden with five shutout setbacks.

While New York has had trouble in Gotham, it is an unbelievable 7-1-1 on the road, including a 4-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings in the most recent trip last Friday.

The Lightning picked up a 3-2 win as moderate favorites (-145) as the Under (5.5) cashed on Saturday, and they've won two in a row, and seven of the past eight outings, while the Under is 4-1 in the past five games, and 9-3 in the previous 12 contests.

Tampa Bay picked up two wins in three games in the regular season in 2024-25, while eating three of the past four games, and the Over is 3-1 in the past four meetings.

Igor Shesterkin (5-6-2, 2.46 GAA, .908 save percentage, 1 SO) is expected to go for the visitors, while Andrei Vasilevskiy (5-4-2, 2.64 GAA, .904 save percentage) is likely for the home side.

The Under has cashed in four of the past five games for the Rangers, while going 3-1 in the past four games on the road, too.

Let's back the Rangers to keep up the good work on the road, while going low on the total based on the trends for both sides lately, outweighing the series trends from a season ago.

  • Rangers ML (+132 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
  • Under 6 Goals (-112 at BetRivers Sportsbook)

New Jersey Devils at Chicago Blackhawks

The Devils (11-4-1) meet the Blackhawks (8-5-3) at United Center at 9:30 p.m. ET in the 'late' game on TNT/HBO Max/truTV.

New Jersey has dominated this series lately, winning six in a row in the series, while taking eight of the past nine dating back to Dec. 23, 2019. That includes three straight wins and four of the past five, in Chicago.

The Devils have had a flair for the dramatic lately, going to overtime or a shootout in each of the previous three outings, including a 3-2 OTL against the New York Islanders as the Under (6) cashed. On the road, New Jersey has lost three of the past four games, getting outscored 18-11 in the span.

The Blackhawks rocketed past the Red Wings 5-1 last time out as a moderate underdog (+158) as the total pushed (6) at most shops. Chicago has outscored the past three opponents 14-3, winning each game as a 'dog.

In each game this season, Chicago has been the underdog, and it is 13-3 on the puck line, winning outright eight times.

Jake Allen (6-2-0, 2.28 GAA, .914 save percentage) and Spencer Knight (6-3-2, 2.33 GAA, .927 save percentage, 1 SO) are the likely goaltenders.

Let's back Chicago at home as underdogs, and we'll go low on the total based on the strong play of the tendies.

  • Blackhawks ML (+136 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
  • Under 6.5 Goals (-125 at Fanatics Sportsbook)
