FanDuel's Thursday NHL DFS options feature Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin, who is 8-4-1 with a 2.31 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 12 road starts this year, at Ottawa.
NHL DFS Picks: FanDuel Top Plays and Strategy for Thursday, December 4

There's no shortage of action tonight with 10 games on the docket. The slate is skewed toward the East Coast with six 7 p.m. ET games and one at 7:30, but there are also two 9:30 starts and one 10 p.m. start. Here are my recommendations for tonight's action.

SLATE PREVIEW

Based on FanDuel's moneyline, the heaviest favorites tonight are Edmonton (minus-210), Carolina (minus-205) and Los Angeles (minus-205) against Seattle (plus-172), Toronto (plus-168) and Chicago (plus-168), respectively. Among those underdogs, the Maple Leafs have looked better recently. The team is relatively healthy after enduring more than its fair share of injuries in the early portion of the campaign, and Toronto has won its last two games while outscoring its opponents 11-3.

GOALIES

Mackenzie Blackwood, COL at NYI ($8,000): Blackwood has had limited playing time this year due to a mix of injury and Scott Wedgewood's success. However, Wedgewood isn't an option Thursday due to a back injury, so Blackwood is expected to get the nod. The 28-year-old Blackwood is more than capable of serving in that role after posting a 6-0-1 record, 1.85 GAA and .930 save percentage through seven appearances this season.

Filip Gustavsson, MIN at CAL ($7,900): Gustavsson had a fantastic November, posting a 5-1-2 record, 2.06 GAA and .923 save percentage in eight appearances. He's in a good position to carry that momentum into December against the Flames, who rank last in goals per game with 2.29.

Igor Shesterkin, NYR at OTT ($7,700): Shesterkin is an elite netminder who is sometimes let down by his team. That said, the Rangers have been a superb 11-4-1 on the road this campaign, so playing him on away games seems to be the best strategy. Shesterkin is 8-4-1 with a 2.31 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 12 road starts this year.

VALUE PLAYS

Carter Verhaeghe, FLA vs. NAS ($5,000): Verhaeghe has two goals and five points across his past three appearances. He did miss Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Toronto for personal reasons, but he's back with the squad now, so there's a solid chance he picks up where he left off against the 9-13-4 Predators.

Gabriel Landeskog, COL at NYI ($4,200): Landeskog's comeback campaign got off to a slow start, but he's started to click recently with three goals and seven points across his past four appearances. Perhaps this is just a hot streak, but if he's capable of re-establishing himself as the kind of player he was before his time missed due to injury, then Landeskog is a steal at his current price.

Trevor Moore, LAK vs. CHI ($4,200): Moore endured a stretch of 10 games from Oct. 26 to Nov. 17 in which he was limited to just one point (an assist), but he's rebounded with five helpers over his past six outings. Although he's been inconsistent this campaign, Moore does have value if taken during his hot stretches.

FORWARD LINE STACKS

Avalanche at Islanders

Nathan MacKinnon (C - $8,400), Martin Necas (W - $7,500), Artturi Lehkonen (W - $6,600)

MacKinnon is on a four-game multipoint streak with five goals and nine points across that span. That's pushed him up to 22 goals and 46 points through 26 appearances. He looks capable of surpassing 110 points for the fourth straight regular season, which is an incredible achievement.

MacKinnon's linemates aren't at his level, but they're great in their own right. Necas has 13 goals and 33 points in 26 appearances this year, including five assists in his past four outings. Lehkonen has nine goals and 24 points in 26 outings in 2025-26, including a goal and five points in his last four games.

Panthers vs. Predators

Anton Lundell (C - $6,200), Brad Marchand (W - $7,400), Sam Reinhart (W - $7,200)

The Panthers have dropped their past three games, but Nashville is 9-13-4 and ranks 31st in goals allowed per game with 3.58, so this is as good a chance as any for the Panthers to rebound.

The top line should have a hand in that. Marchand is defying his age with 15 goals and 27 points through 24 appearances this year. He's centered by Lundell, who has taken a significant step forward this campaign after supplying six goals and 20 points in 25 outings. Reinhart has also been a big part of the Panthers' offense with 14 goals and 24 points in 25 appearances, and he's been held off the scoresheet just once over his past 10 games.

DEFENSEMEN

Cale Makar, COL at NYI ($7,700): Makar leads all defensemen in points with 32 through 26 appearances this year. He was held off the scoresheet Tuesday, but that was one of just five games this season in which he's failed to record a point. By contrast, he has eight multipoint games in 2025-26.

Zach Werenski, CLM vs. DET ($7,000): Werenski has been rolling over his past 10 outings with five goals and 15 points. That stretch has elevated him to nine goals and 26 points across 26 outings this season.

Roman Josi, NAS at FLA ($5,900): Josi has missed time due to injury this season, but the 35-year-old has remained effective when in the lineup, providing two goals and nine points in 14 outings. He's recorded a goal and four points over his past five appearances.
