Russia
Finds finish as massive favorite
Susurkaev defeated Eric McConico via KO (punch) at 1:38 of Round 3 at UFC 322 on Saturday in New York City.
ANALYSIS
The finish is all anyone is going to talk about, and it was very nice, but overall, this was a middling performance from Susurkaev considering he entered as a -1000 favorite. He landed a pair of takedowns in addition to the huge knockout, although Susurkaev struggled to generate consistent offense and his cardio didn't appear to be particularly strong. The 24-year-old Russian has an immense amount of upside, but there are almost certainly going to be some bumps in the road along the way.

ANALYSIS
It's been an eventful few days for Susurkaev. Fresh off getting a knockout on the Contender Series on Tuesday, "Hunter" was informed that he would be fighting Nolan on the world's biggest stage. He didn't disappoint, stalking his opponent and landing big strikes before leaning on his wrestling to find the choke. Susurkaev can be hit, and seems a bit too comfortable letting shots bounce off his guard. Still, he is a legitimate finisher with a diverse skill set. This, along with the fact that he is a training partner of middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev, could see him fast-tracked up the ranks. He moves to a perfect 8-0-0 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.

The Russian prospect made quite a first impression with a devastating body shot knockout on The Contender Series on Tuesday to earn his UFC contract, and now he's already booked his Octagon debut on short notice. He owns a 9-0 pro record, and is perhaps best known as a teammate and training partner of headliner Khamzat Chimaev.
