Wilson lost to Yi Zha via KO (punches) at 0:37 of Round 1 at UFC Shanghai on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Wilson looked exactly the part of a (+700) betting underdog fighting in enemy territory. Inexplicably entering the pocket with his hands down, Wilson ate a big left early, and a few more after that. He was crumbing against the cage literally seconds into the opening round. When it was all said and done, he wasn't credited with a single strike landed. While Wilson does have a submission win on his ledger, he was finished in the first round in all three of his other UFC appearances. He's essentially a submission-or-bust fighter moving forward, provided he keeps his roster spot.

August 1, 2025
Wilson is scheduled to compete against Yi Zha in a welterweight fight at UFC Shanghai on Aug. 23, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
For the first time in his UFC career, Wilson will look to fight outside of the United States. He takes on a hometown favorite in Zha, who is trying to bounce back from a loss to Gabriel Santos.
Pulls huge upset in Vegas

June 15, 2024
Wilson defeated Jeka Saragih via submission (triangle armbar) at 1:49 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was Wilson's third UFC fight. He suffered first-round knockout defeats in the first two and almost certainly would have been handed his walking papers had he lost here. To Wilson's credit, he said early in the week that he was going to spam takedown attempts on Saragih in an attempt to get this fight to the mat, and that's exactly what he did. One of his three tries finally connected, and Wilson proceed to tap Saragih out without issue once he got him in a vulnerable position. There's a high likelihood this will be the high point of Wilson's UFC run, but he now has a win with the company under his belt.
Scheduled against Saragih

Wilson is scheduled to compete against Jeka Saragih in a featherweight fight at the UFC Apex's June 15 event, per Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Wilson will look to bounce back after beginning his 2024 with a first-round TKO from Jean Silva. He will also look to stop his losing streak at two, which started with a loss to Joanderson Brito.
Again not competitive in loss

Wilson lost to Jean Silva via TKO (punches) at 4:12 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Wilson lasted just 2:54 in his UFC debut against Joanderson Brito last July, so he's moving in the right direction. In all seriousness, Westin never had a chance of winning this fight as a +625 underdog, by far the largest on the entire card. He's displayed zero ability to defend himself on the feet, and thus has been unable to land any notable offense of his own. Most UFC fighters that drop their first two bouts with the company get a third chance given how many events the promotion holds, but Wilson, who will be 35 years of age in late-January, appears likely to be an exception to that rule.
Receives new opponent

December 13, 2023
Wilson will now fight Jean Silva at UFC Vegas 84 on Jan. 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Gabriel Santos had to pull out of the fight for unknown reasons, meaning Wilson will now be matched up with an opponent who will be making his UFC debut. Wilson is coming off a loss in his own debut at the hands of Joanderson Brito, and he will have a four-inch reach advantage over Silva.
