Dream11 Fantasy Soccer: Manchester City v. Newcastle United Preview

This article is part of our Dream11 Fantasy Soccer series.

Game Preview

Manchester City sit comfortably in second place with 66 points and own a six-point edge over Chelsea, but the Blues have one game in hand, so it's not a stretch to think Pep Guardiola's men have all but sealed the runner-up position in the 2019/20 English Premier League. Newcastle United, on the other hand, are in the middle of the standings with 43 points (12th place), but they've been playing very well of late thanks to three wins in their last five league matches. If anything, they've done enough to, at least, represent some kind of threat to Manchester City even if this game will be played at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens are massive favorites, but it would be wrong to sleep on the Magpies to potentially pull some kind of upset.

Top Picks

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City: No other Premier League player has double-digit goals and assists in the league, and that should speak volumes of De Bruyne's importance in Pep Guardiola's tactical scheme. The Belgium international has scored in three of his last four EPL starts.

Phil Foden, Manchester City: Foden might not be a very popular pick, but he has been one of the best value picks in City's last few matches. The talented midfielder has found the back of the net four times across his side's last three home games since the EPL restarted last month.

Captain and Vice-Captain Options

  1. Kevin De Bruyne
  2. Phil Foden
  3. Dwight Gayle
