Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Saturday's main slate on Mondogoal features seven matches for just the third time this season, including some major clubs who are poised to deliver in enticing home matchups. Midweek European competition could present some added value if Arsenal and Leicester choose to rotate their squads, though neither side was forced to travel and both seemed to emerge with no new injuries. In what could be one of the more high-scoring rounds of the season, the following are names to consider when looking to get the most out of your lineups.

GOALKEEPER

Maarten Stekelenburg, at (£5.9M): Stekelenburg came through with a performance that was heroic for both his club and fantasy owners last weekend, as he saved a pair of penalties to salvage a draw with Manchester City en route to 23.8 fantasy points. Stekelenburg and company will be road favorites against a Burnley side that have just four goals in their last six matches, making Stekelenburg a favorite to return value against his affordable price.

Petr Cech, v. (£8.2M): Cech has won six consecutive appearances and will start for an Arsenal side that have won seven straight matches overall. Middlesbrough are winless in their last six and have managed just four goals during that stretch, making Cech one of the more bankable options for a win Saturday, and with added upside for a clean sheet.

DEFENDER

Dejan Lovren, v. (£7.3M): Lovren's improved play has been crucial this season, and Liverpool have now gone unbeaten while allowing just two goals in his three starts since returning from injury. He has averaged 10 fantasy points per game during that time, which includes matchups against Chelsea and Manchester United, and he should have plenty of chances to rack up points versus West Brom on Saturday.

Seamus Coleman, at (£8.9M): Coleman has played well after missing the start of the season, and he has been especially productive versus teams currently in the bottom half of the table, with an average of 10.24 fantasy points over three matches. The Toffees will hit the road to take on 14th-place Burnley on Saturday, and Coleman's ability to contribute on both sides of the ball has him poised for another strong outing.

Laurent Koscielny, v. (£10.9M): Koscielny has been one of the most consistently effective defenders in the Premier League this season, averagin 10.45 fantasy points over his last six home matches. Arsenal are fresh off a clean sheet versus Ludogorets in the Champions League that gave them their seventh consecutive victory overall, and Koscielny should continue his strong play with his side expected to dominate yet again.

MIDFIELDER

Nacer Chadli, v. (£8.0M): Chadli has made himself quite at home since integrating into the Baggies' lineup, and he has an impressive four goals and two assists over his last four matches. Liverpool have played well of late, but Chadli's stellar form and affordable price make him a worthy addition as the Baggies try to keep pace.

Joe Allen, v. (£8.4M): Allen is in the attacking form of his life, with four goals in his last three appearances, which equals his best total from any full professional season. He is thriving as a featured player for the Potters and seems like a strong bet to keep it rolling versus a Hull side that are in a defensive tailspin after allowing a whopping 13 goals in their last three matches.

Dimitri Payet, v. (£13.0M): Payet has two goals and two assists in his last four home matches and has averaged 10.3 fantasy points per game at London Stadium during that time. He will draw a home matchup versus a Sunderland side that currently reside at the foot of the table with a minus-9 goal differential and will boast more attacking upside than just about any other midfielder available on Saturday's slate.

FORWARD

Marko Arnautovic, v. (£7.1M): Arnautovic came through with one of his best performances of the season last weekend, notching his first assist while rattling off four shots and providing five crosses. He will face one of the most inviting matchups of Saturday's slate versus a Hull side that will enter the weekend on a three-match losing streak in which they've allowed 13 goals.

Theo Walcott, v. (£9.8M): Walcott is one of the hottest goal scorers in Europe at the moment, with seven goals to go along with one assist in his last six matches in all competitions after his curling strike versus Ludogorets midweek in the Champions League. He is entrenched as one of the most important attacking options for a Gunners side that have won seven consecutive matches, and he should have every opportunity to continue his recent success at home against Middlesbrough.

Romelu Lukaku, at (£11.5M): Lukaku has been extremely productive over the last five matches and has ascended to second on the Premier League scoring charts, with six goals and one assist during that stretch. Saturday's opponent, Burnley, have been outscored 7-1 in their last three matches versus clubs in the top half of the table and should struggle to contain the red hot striker in his present form.
