FORWARDS
Mohamed Salah, LIV v. ARS (£27): Salah has been lighting up the Premier League and has the second-highest goal scoring odds on the slate behind Harry Kane (£28), and he has scored or provided an assist in nine of his past 11 league matches. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£24) is leading the league in scoring right now, but he will face a Liverpool defense that has conceded seven goals in 19 matches. Liverpool have scored three goals in each of their past three home matches against Arsenal and are undefeated against Arsenal in their past seven across all competitions. This fixture has been a goal-fest the past couple years and is expected to be again with the highest implied goal total on the slate.
Heung-Min Son, TOT v. WOL (£25): Tottenham are getting the best out of Son before he leaves for the Asian Cup in January, as he's bagged four goals in his past two matches. He's scored at least 8.10 fantasy points over his past seven starts, including four times with at least 17.0. It also doesn't hurt that he comes in cheaper than Kane while producing at a higher level.
Jamie Vardy, LEI v. CC (£19): Leicester have taken out Chelsea and Manchester City over their past two matches and will now face a Cardiff side that has been woeful away from home. Vardy has the third-highest goal-scoring odds for projected starters behind Kane and Salah, and he is significantly cheaper with a better matchup. James Maddison (£19, midfielder) is another option to consider if you want to stack the Leicester attack.
MIDFIELDERS
Gylfi Sigurdsson, EVE at BHA (£21): Sigurdsson has scored in consecutive matches and will be facing a Brighton side that has conceded more shots than any team on the slate. After getting demolished by Tottenham on Sunday, Everton bounced back to beat Burnley 5-1 on Boxing Day. Sigurdsson and Lucas Digne continue to share responsibilities on dead balls, with Sigurdsson preferred on penalties. Christian Eriksen (£23) is the most expensive midfielder, and he is worth spending up on if Kieran Trippier is rested for a second consecutive match, though that seems unlikely.
Roberto Pereyra, WAT v. NEW (£18): Pereyra has scored at least 7.80 fantasy points in each of his past four starts, including twice with at least 12.20, with his consolation goal in Wednesday's loss to Chelsea helping him avoid a poor outing. He's taken 13 shots (six on target) over that four-match span, which could be boosted by a Newcastle side that concede 14+ shots per 90 minutes.
Solomon March, BHA v. EVE (£13): This slate is top heavy with forward options like Salah and Kane, so it's important to find bargains where you can, which is where March comes in. He's taken the majority of free kicks for Brighton the past six weeks, while sharing a small number of opportunities with Pascal Gross (£16). March is cheaper and takes more set pieces, making him the clear selection for me. Phillip Billing (£13) is in a similar situation and another midfielder worth taking a look at if you're need a budget player.
DEFENDERS
Kieran Trippier, TOT v. WOL (£17): Trippier and Digne (£17) are the two most-expensive defenders on the slate due to their set-piece responsibilities, and you could roster both due to their favorable matchups. I prefer Trippier in this position due to Tottenham using him as the primary set-piece taker even when Eriksen is in the starting XI. Digne and Sigurdsson have split dead balls for the most part, which gives a slight edge to Trippier. Tottenham have the highest clean-sheet odds, which pushes Trippier over the line for me among the expensive defenders.
Ricardo Pereira, LEI v. CC (£15): Cardiff City have scored a grand total of five goals away from home this season, the fewest in the league, which puts most opposition defenders in play. Couple Cardiff's terrible attack with Pereira's defensive contributions and you have a relatively safe bet in defense. Harry Maguire (£16) and Ben Chilwell (£15) are in the same range as Pereira, while Wes Morgan (£13) is the cheapest of any projected defensive starter for the Foxes.
Fabinho, LIV v. ARS (£14) Fabinho is listed as a defender despite playing as a central midfielder for Liverpool, and he has comes in with one goal and two assists in his last three games. His offensive upside in a match with the highest implied goal total and Liverpool's dominance at home make him worth a flyer, especially for a midfielder who is defender-eligible.
GOALKEEPER
Alisson Becker, LIV v. ARS (£16): Twelve clean sheets in 19 matches is hard to overlook, even with Liverpool's matchup against the fourth-highest scoring side in the league. The Reds are undefeated in their past 30 home Premier League matches, while also keeping a clean sheet in 12 of the past 14. They've been dominant at Anfield and could continue that trend in a match they're favored in. Something to keep an eye on the rest of the season, Alisson Becker needs nine clean sheets over the back half of the season to tie Petr Cech and Edwin van der Saar's record for clean sheets in a season. Meanwhile, Kasper Schmeichel (£14) will face the anemic Cardiff City attack and will come slightly cheaper if you don't trust Alisson Becker against the Arsenal attack.
