2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mac Allister thrived in new boss Arne Slot's system, forming one of the best midfields in the league on the way to the title. While his offensive production wasn't improved from the final season under Jurgen Klopp (five goals, five assists), the way those goal contributions came was different. Instead of getting run in attacking midfield, Mac Allister was a consistent defensive midfielder alongside Ryan Gravenberch. Mac Allister also took on a larger role on set pieces under Slot, something that could continue with the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Assist in opener win
Mac Allister assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Friday's 4-2 win over AFC Bournemouth.
ANALYSIS
Mac Allister delivered a polished midfield display Friday. He placed a shot on target, but his key contribution was a precise pass to Hugo Etitike that created the assist for Liverpool's opening goal. He was subbed after 72 minutes. Throughout the game he controlled the Reds engine room through consistent plays and stability, he looks poised to have another year as one of the team's top performers.

Can't play full game yet
Mac Allister made his return from injury last Wednesday in a pre season friendly but still does not have a full game in his legs, coach Arne Slot said in a press conference. "He will be in the squad [on Sunday]. He was out for two months I think, or longer because we did not play him in the last four games of the season. He trained with us for a week now, played 30 minutes, 45 minutes. So that is not a situation where you would start a player [and] play him for 90 minutes. Starting is possible but definitely not for 90 minutes."

Aims return for Community Shield
Mac Allister was spotted back in team training during pre-season and told Liverpoolfc.com that he is feeling good and hopes to be available for the beginning of the season and hopefully for the Community Shield, the club posted. "It has been a long time, a difficult time because it is never nice to be injured. But now I'm feeling good, it's just about time and getting fit because they have had a good pre-season so they are definitely in a different physical shape, so I have to get used [to it] again. But it's nice to be out there. [...] We have been working a lot in the gym, on my structure. It's hard to explain it but as I said, now I'm feeling good and for me that's the most important thing. Yeah, hopefully. That's the idea [to be available for the beginning of the season]. As I said, I need to work on my physical shape and get used again to the level of the boys. But I'm feeling really, really good, training with the team and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be fine for the beginning of the season and hopefully for the [Community Shield] as well."
