Jean-Philippe Mateta
28-Year-Old
Crystal Palace
Premier
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mateta got off to a slow start in his first full season under Oliver Glasner, and then he caught fire for a few months before finishing slow after busting his nose in March. Along with Crystal Palace as a whole, he tended to score his 14 goals in bunches, including three braces last season. Mateta isn't likely to push any of the elite strikers in the Premier League or top 20 goals, but with a strong attack built around him he should be a solid option for double-digit goals once more. No matter what happens in the squad around him, Mateta's role is as a true No. 9 who can score in a variety of ways.
Two shot attempts in loss
Mateta had two shots (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-1 loss against Sunderland.
ANALYSIS
Mateta led the Crystal Palace attacking effort Saturday with two shots (one on goal) in their 2-1 road defeat at the hands of Sunderland. Though the striker was unable to find the back of the net, he did contribute five clearances and one block of the team's defensive effort across his 90-minute shift. Across his last five league appearances (five starts), Mateta has attempted just six shots (two on goal) and scored once.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Juventus keeping close tabs
Juventus are ready to submit an offer to sign Mateta, according to Sky Sports.
ANALYSIS
Juventus are looking to sign a new striker since they want to acquire a player who could be considered a long-term replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. Mateta is a bit older than the Serbian star, but he'd be an excellent fit for Juventus, as his mixture of technical ability and above-average physical traits could play well in the Serie A. Mateta, a 28-year-old forward, is likely to leave Crystal Palace either in January or in the summer.
