PITCHER
Adam Morgan, PHI at ATL ($5,500): Morgan in no way profiles as a good pitcher. Against the Braves and their 46 wRC+ and 26 percent K rate versus lefties, he's usable at such a low price. In 17.2 innings at Triple-A, Morgan had a 26.7 percent K rate and solid 3.57 ERA. His nine innings in the majors have been subpar, but the K rate is still 22 percent and the SIERA is under 4.00. With six games having at least an 8.5-run over/under, there are lots of enticing bats to pay up for, and Morgan allows for enough salary relief to do so.
Jon Lester, CHC vs. SDP ($12,200): There's rain once again in the Chicago region, so make sure to check the forecast as lineup lock approaches. It's hard to ever argue against targeting a pitcher against the Padres; their wRC+ against lefties sits at a respectable 93, but a .335 BABIP inflates that and the K rate is a league-worst 26.6 percent. Lester has a 3.28 SIERA and 24.7 percent K rate, going at last seven innings in four of his six starts this year.
CATCHER
Yadier Molina, STL at LAA ($2,900):Hector Santiago has consistently kept his ERA significantly below his xFIP and SIERA in recent years, so those numbers may not indicate that he's actually much worse than his mid-3's ERA. He has, however, always struggled some against right-handed bats, allowing a .326 wOBA over his career. After a poor season at the plate last uear, Molina has a 118 wRC+ this season with his career split against lefties standing six points higher than against righties. A .127 ISO (compared to .110 against righties) indicates more power upside for Molina, who has lost most of his home-run upside in recent years. Maybe above all is the fact that his price is under $3,000.
FIRST BASE
Edwin Encarnacion, TOR at SF ($4,200): After a poor April, Encarnacion has a .412 wOBA and 171 wRC+ this month. Matt Cain's ERA of 7.84 (after a 5.79 last season) showcases his leash may be nearing it's end. This season, Cain has a 6.01 xFIP against righties compared to a 4.12 xFIP against lefties, and the meat of the Toronto lineup is made up of righties who will take advantage of this split.
SECOND BASE
Derek Dietrich, MIA vs. MIL ($3,300): The obvious beneficiary of Dee Gordon's PED suspension, Dietrich has been very good this season, sporting a 169 wRC+, and he draws Milwaukee's end-of-the-rotation guy in Zach Davies, who comes in with an xFIP and SIERA over 5.00. Dietrich also has 3B eligibility.
THIRD BASE
Josh Donaldson, TOR at SF ($4,700): Donaldson's bat is really good and with Cain's struggles this season, getting him under $5,000 regardless of the park is extremely enticing. After a career year last year, Donaldson is on pace for yet another one with a .162 wRC+ and .400 wOBA.
SHORTSTOP
Jung Ho Kang, PIT at CIN ($3,900): Kang has a wRC+ of 130 this season, including two home runs in his four games back after an injury. Rain is a potential issue in Cincy tonight, so keep an eye on that.
OUTFIELD
Alex Presley, MIL at MIA ($2,000): This isn't to say that Presley is superb, in fact he's very average, but he merits mentioning at the minimum price because he's in the leadoff spot against a pitcher who's oddly enough faired far worse against lefties in his short career despite being a southpaw.
Josh Reddick, OAK at BOS ($4,300): The over/under in Boston is 9.5 and Reddick will be facing Sean O'Sullivan, who has a career 5.96 ERA and 1.66 HR/9 and has allowed a .390 wOBA to lefties. Despite still showing complete incompetence against southpaws, Reddick has an elite .169 wRC+ and .403 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.
Carlos Gonzalez, COL vs. ARI ($4,700): The over/under is ONLY 10.5, so you don't have to empty the bank to afford batters from the game. Rubby De La Rosa has been fairly good this year, but left-handed batters still have a .372 wOBA against him during his career, and despite being fairly mediocre so far this season, Gonzalez still has a .394 wOBA against righties.
