DraftKings MLB: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Corey Kluber, CLE vs. COL ($12,400): The Rockies own a target-worthy .296 wOBA and 23.4 strikeout percentage against right-handed pitchers on the road this season, so it's a high-end matchup for Kluber. The righty has posted a 2.67 ERA with a 42.2 strikeout percentage through his past four starts, so spending up for the ace is a strong starting point for lineups.

Michael Wacha, STL at KC ($8,600): After oddly being pulled early in his previous start, Wacha could be flying under the radar. With Kansas City sporting a .310 wOBA for the campaign, it's not a daunting matchup, either. Wacha has surrendered two earned runs or fewer in seven of his past eight starts and owns a solid 3.47 FIP and 23.9 strikeout percentage for the year.

CATCHER

Francisco Cervelli, PIT vs. DET ($2,800): After posting a high-end .401 wOBA against southpaws in 2016, Cervelli's .292 mark this season is a significant disappointment. With a favorable matchup against Matt Boyd (.362 wOBA allowed to right-handed batters), look for the backstop to show positive regression against the lefty.

FIRST BASE

Joey Votto, CIN vs. SD ($5,400):Luis Perdomo has struggled to retire left-handed batters all season and allowed a .405 on-base percentage and .381 wOBA to them. Votto's 1.060 OPS, .283 ISO and .436 wOBA against righties jump off the page, and he's a strong option from the top-tier first basemen.

SECOND BASE

Scooter Gennett, CIN vs. SD ($3,800): This salary doesn't fit Gennett's production or matchup, and he helps mitigate Joey Votto's salary in a mini stack. As noted, it's a soft matchup against Luis Perdomo, and Gennett boasts an impressive .407 wOBA against right-handed arms this season.

THIRD BASE

Joey Gallo, TEX at NYM ($4,300): The slugger has shown more consistency at the dish of late with a .304/.373/.826 slash line through his past 51 plate appearances, so this salary stands as a nice discount. After all, Gallo boasts an elite .346 ISO against right-handed pitchers. This is also a soft matchup with Chris Flexen sporting a 9.14 FIP through his first two career starts.

SHORTSTOP

Jazier Baez, CHC at SF ($4,400): It isn't standout matchup against Ty Blach, as the lefty has limited right-handed hitters to a .332 wOBA this season. However, Baez sports a .231 ISO and .365 wOBA against southpaws dating back to last season, and he's found a groove of late. The middle infielder has a 1.043 OPS through his past 57 plate appearances.

OUTFIELD

Andrew McCutchen, PIT vs. DET ($4,700): As noted, Matt Boyd isn't a daunting matchup, and McCutchen has posted an elite 1.220 OPS, .442 ISO and .488 wOBA against southpaws this season. McCutchen is locked back into three-hold of the lineup, and considering his numbers against lefties, there's oodles of profit potential in his salary.

Christian Yelich, MIA at WAS ($3,900): After a slow start, things have been clicking of late for Yelich, and he sports a .907 OPS, .250 ISO and .383 wOBA against right-handed hurlers since July 1. Hitting between Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna is also a huge boost, and Miami draws inexperienced righty A.J. Cole (5.22 career ERA over 58.2 innings).

Ryan Braun, MIL at MIN ($3,900): Another bargain offering both upside and cap relief, Braun boasts a .409 on-base percentage and .409 wOBA against southpaws over the past three seasons and .407 and .394 marks this year. Adalberto Mejia has limited right-handed hitters to a .339 wOBA, this should still be viewed as a solid matchup for Braun.
