Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees Best Bets

The Yankees successfully staved off elimination Tuesday night in a wild 9-6 win, and they'll now turn to rookie sensation Cam Schlittler to put together a successful encore to his brilliant eight-inning, 12-strikeout blanking of Boston to close out the AL Wild Card series last Thursday.

The opponent is a bit more daunting this time around, as the Blue Jays gave the talented young righty fits in the most recent time they saw him. Schlittler allowed four earned runs on five hits over 1.2 innings to Toronto in a Sept. 5 start at Yankee Stadium. That outing was preceded by a better performance back on July 22 at Rogers Centre where he nevertheless pitched to some contact (5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 Ks).

Despite the loss Tuesday, Blue Jays bats are scorching in the series, having accumulated 29 runs in the first three games. Toronto posted a .324 wOBA and modest 18.8 percent strikeout rate against righties on the road over the last month of the regular season as well, and they're averaging a whopping 6.7 runs per first five innings in the series thus far.

Therefore, while the fact the Jays are going with a bullpen game on Wednesday keeps me from betting on them to be ahead at the end of five, I don't mind banking on them being down by no more than one run at that juncture and combining it with a pretty easy threshold to clear in terms of total runs in the same timeframe.

Then, Judge is always a threat to be involved in any offense the Yankees (4.8 projected-run total) generate, especially considering he's belted three homers in six career plate appearances against Toronto opener Louis Varland, putting that prop in play as well.

MLB Picks for Blue Jays at Yankees

  • SGP: Blue Jays +1.5- F5 and Over 2.5 runs -F5 (+107 on FanDuel Sportsbook) for 1 Unit
  • Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-150 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Dodgers Best Bets

The Dodgers squeezed out a pair of road wins in the first two games of the NLDS, putting them in position to close things out in front of the home crowd Wednesday. They'll turn to the red-hot Yoshinobu Yamamoto to try and finish the job, as he successfully did in the NL Wild Card Series close-out game against the Reds a week ago.

The right-hander finished the regular season with a pair of shutouts and extended his streak in that postseason matchup with Cincinnati, blanking the Reds over 6.2 innings. He also shut out the Phillies in his one regular-season meeting with them this season, holding them scoreless over six innings April 4.

The Dodgers average 3.1 runs per first five innings per home game including the postseason, the third-highest figure in all of baseball. Additionally, several of their current bats have had their fair share of success against Phillies starter Aaron Nola over the years. Mookie Betts owns a .391 average and 1.087 OPS against him in 23 career encounters. Nola checks in off the worst regular season of his career and pitched to an 0-6 record, 6.97 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 1.5 HR/9 across 41.1 road innings during the 2025 campaign.

Given the home setting and the factors cited, my SGP focuses on the Dodgers being ahead at the end of five and runs to be kept to six or less in that span. A prop on Betts picking up at least two total bases is also in play.

MLB Picks for Phillies at Dodgers

  • SGP: Dodgers moneyline - F5 and Under 6.5 runs- F5 (-105 on BetMGM Sportsbook) for 1 Unit
  • Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105 on BetMGM Sportsbook) for 1 Unit
