Best NBA Bets Today
Jamal Murray over 23.5 points (-125) vs. Dallas Mavericks
FanDuel, 4:21 PM CT
Alex Barutha: The Mavericks play a lot of drop coverage and stay home on shooters, which has led to them giving up the fourth most points per game to pick-and-roll ballhandlers. Murray has already faced two other teams with this gameplan -- the Grizzlies and Timberwolves. In three games against those two teams, he's averaged 31.7 PPG. As a pick-and-roll ballhandler, Murray is averaging the fourth most points per game.
De'Andre Hunter over 17.5 points (-126) at Indiana Pacers
DraftKings, 1:36 PM CT
Alex Barutha: The Cavs will be shorthanded tonight, with absences for Jarrett Allen, Lonzo Ball, Darius Garland, Sam Merrill and Larry Nance. With that handful of players off the court, Hunter sees a +7.1% usage increase. In his 29 total minutes under those conditions, he's posted 27 points (8-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-9 FT).
Wendell Carter over 20.5 points + rebounds (-110) vs. Chicago Bulls
Hard Rock, 1:53 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Chicago has struggled to guard frontcourt players this season, and Carter has already put up an 8-point, 13-rebound game against the team (Oct. 25). And while Carter's had some up-and-down performances lately (11.0 points and 7.6 rebounds across the past seven), it's been against tough competition. Chicago is a solid team but still allows 123.1 points per game and has given up monster performances to other role-player bigs like Donovan Clingan (17 points, 21 rebounds), Myles Turner (23 points, 8 rebounds) and Kel'el Ware (20 points, 14 rebounds).
Milwaukee Bucks -9.5 at Washington Wizards (-115)
BetRivers: 4:17 PM CT
Nick Whalen: The Bucks should be at close to full strength tonight with Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to play and Kevin Porter Jr. back in the lineup. Meanwhile, the Wizards are without Alex Sarr, who has been one of the few positives for them this season. Washington is 13.2 points per 100 possessions worse with Sarr off the floor this season, and his absence is particularly concerning with Antetokounmpo on the other side. Washington is 1-6 ATS at home this season, failing to cover by nearly 10 points per game.
Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles Lakers over 233.5 (-110)
DraftKings, 4:17 PM CT
Nick Whalen: We'll lean into the trends with this play, as the Lakers are 9-0 to the Over at home this season, while the Suns are 6-3 to the Over on the road. Since LeBron James made his debut, the Lakers have the best offense in the NBA, while both teams rank in the bottom half of the league, defensively, over the last five games. In a matchup between a Lakers team that leads the NBA in free throw rate, and a Suns team that takes — and makes — a ton of threes, we'll grab the O233.5.
Indiana Pacers +4.5 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (-110)
DraftKings, 4:17 PM CT
Nick Whalen: The Cavs are certainly the better team, but they'll be down multiple starters tonight and are on the second night of a home/road back-to-back. The Cavs are 0-3 ATS when they're on the second game of a B2B and the opponent is not, failing to cover those games by 10.5 points per game. Meanwhile, the Pacers are getting healthier and are no longer a total pushover like they were early on. Over the last six games, they rank third in the NBA in defensive rating and have a top-10 NET rating.
