Yahoo DFS Basketball: Friday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Friday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Game 6 between the Clippers and Mavericks takes center stage. This matchup also provides an opportunity to play Yahoo's single game contest, which comes with a bit of a twist.

In addition to selecting two flex players, there are three multiplier positions. A player slotted into the Megastar spot will earn double their fantasy points scored. The Superstar spot will earn 1.5X their fantasy points scored. Finally, the Star will earn 1.2X their fantasy points scored. With that in mind, let's discuss some players to consider.

MULTIPIERS

Luka Doncic ($51): Despite dealing with a neck injury, Doncic dominated Game 5 with 42 points, eight rebounds and 14 assists across 43 minutes. Not only was his significant court time a positive sign regarding his health, but he also felt good enough to jack up 37 shot attempts. Doncic is the clear leader of the Mavericks' scoring attack and can stuff the stat sheet in multiple areas, which makes him an ideal option for one of the multiplier positions.

Kawhi Leonard ($45): One of the big reasons why the Clippers are facing elimination is that Leonard couldn't get much going offensively in Game 5 scoring just 20 points on 7-for-19 shooting. As ugly as that performance was, it's more of an outlier night than anything else as he had shot 62.7 percent from the field over the first four after 51.2 percent during the regular season. With the Clippers' backs against the wall, Leonard could be primed to step up in a big way.

Paul George ($38): While Leonard was struggling in Game 5, George played well on his way to 49.0 Yahoo points. He's recorded at least 45.4 Yahoo points in three of the last four and has averaged 39 minutes this series. With that kind of playing time and a leading role alongside Leonard, George offers a high floor making him one of the top options for a multiplier spot.

FLEX PLAYS

Reggie Jackson ($15): Someone else on the Clippers has to score besides Leonard and George. Over the last four games, that's been Jackson as he's averaged 16.5 points and 4.0 three-pointers. The key is him seeing at least 29 minutes in each of those contests after only playing 21 in Game 1. Jackson is starting and playing well, so don't expect his playing time to decrease anytime soon.

Boban Marjanovic ($10): If you want to choose both Doncic and Leonard, then taking a chance on a player with a minimum salary can really help your lineup construction. Marjanovic provides a jolt of energy whenever he comes onto the floor, especially with the Mavericks at home. He recorded 12 points and six rebounds over 15 minutes in Game 4 and followed that up with nine points and seven rebounds across 20 minutes in Game 5. Marjanovic even started in the latter outing, which is a role he could repeat tonight.

PLAYER TO AVOID

Kristaps Porzingis ($25): Porzingis enters with the fourth-highest salary on this slate, which makes it tough to add him with a couple of the top-tier options to your lineup. He certainly hasn't displayed the ceiling Doncic, Leonard and George offer having only produced 27.0 Yahoo points or fewer in four of the five games this series. Hoping for Porzingis to finally have a big night seems like a risk that isn't worth taking.
