Pacers and Lakers Set for Interconference Clash
The Indiana Pacers take on the Los Angeles Lakers at crypto.com Arena on Monday night.

The Pacers (11-8) had been riding high with six wins in the previous seven games coming into a Sunday matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, but they fell by a 114-100 score in that contest. Jalen Smith led the Pacers with 23 points, adding nine rebounds and one block. Tyrese Haliburton generate a 15-point, 11-assist double-double that included five rebounds and two steals. T.J. McConnell supplied 14 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Buddy Hield finished with 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Pacers will likely list Andrew Nembhard (knee) and Chris Duarte (ankle) as questionable at best for Monday's game. Daniel Theis (knee) will remain out.

The Lakers (7-11) still have a long way to go as far as digging out of their early-season hole, but they'll enter Monday's interconference clash having won six of their last seven games. Los Angeles' most recent success came despite the absence of Anthony Davis, as they managed a wild 143-138 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. LeBron James led the Lakers with 39 points, complementing them with 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Dennis Schroder compiled 21 points, six assists and three rebounds. Lonnie Walker totaled 19 points, five boards and two assists. Austin Reaves supplied 16 points, while Wenyen Gabriel registered 15 points, four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal. Russell Westbrook netted 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists and one block.

The Lakers will list Davis (calf) as probable for Monday's game. Patrick Beverley (suspension) will remain out, while James (leg) will be listed as probable.

Monday's game marks the first of two meetings between the teams this season. The two teams split the two-game 2021-22 regular-season series.
