Best NBA Bets Today (Friday, Jan. 9)
Bilal Coulibaly over 1.5 made threes (+162) vs. New Orleans Pelicans
FanDuel, 4:08 PM CT
Alex Barutha: Coulibaly is not a prolific three-point shooter, which is why we're getting sizable plus-money on this. He mostly shoots from the corners, where he is 12-for-37 (32.4%) on the season in 22 games. The Pelicans are a good opportunity for him, as they've allowed the third-most corner three-point attempts over the past 10 games (121), with opponents hitting 38% of them.
VJ Edgecombe over 14.5 points at Orlando Magic (-125)
FanDuel, 4:07 PM CT
Nick Whalen: While it looks like the Sixers will be at close to full strength tonight, I like this spot for Edgecombe against a Magic team that's slipped defensively over the last few weeks. The rookie has gone over this number in four of his last five games and is seeing just under 40 minutes per game (39.8 MPG) in that span.
Jalen Williams over 30.5 PTS+AST at Memphis Grizzlies (-130)
DraftKings, 4:07 PM CT
Nick Whalen: The Thunder are down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Cason Wallace, so I see this as a spot for Williams to break out of what's been a semi-sluggish start to his season. He's struggling from three right now but should see a significant boost in terms of offensive responsibility against a Grizzlies team that ranks third in pace and 17th in defense over the last 10 games. Williams has played only 32 minutes this season without Gilgeous-Alexander, Holmgren and Hartenstein on the floor, but in that sample he's taken 29 field-goal attempts.
