DraftKings CFL: Week 10 Cheat Sheet

DraftKings CFL: Week 10 Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings CFL DFS Picks series.

We;re back to a normal four-game slate this week that extends from Friday night to Canada's traditional Thanksgiving Classic slate of games Monday afternoon, when the holiday is recognized north of the border. We have some very good statistical matchups for multiple players this week, which should make it a high-scoring ledger for DFS purposes.

DraftKings CFL Plays- Week 10

Quarterback

Cody Fajardo, SSK vs. CGY ($10,900): Fajardo continues to carry the slate's heftiest price tag most weeks, and although he doesn't always deliver on it, he does boast four tallies well north of 20 DK points thus far this season. Additionally, Fajardo has had much of his success at home, where he's generated an average of 22.3 DK points across five contests while scoring nine total TDs. The Stampeders did limit Fajardo to 12.1 DK points in Week 9 at their place, but the challenge for their suspect defense will ratchet up at Mosaic Field. Calgary also checks in allowing 279.6 passing yards per game and has given up 180 completions, with both figures ranking as the third highest in the league.

Vernon Adams, MTL vs. OTT ($10,600): Adams has shown some nice upside this season with three tallies of more than 20 DK points, including one over 30. That season-best performance came against these same Redblacks back in Week 5, with Adams compiling 288 passing yards and four touchdowns and adding 35 yards on the ground. Ottawa continues to field a highly vulnerable defense as well, giving up the most rushing yards (110.9) and second-most passing yards (287.3) per game, along with the CFL's highest completion percentage (75.2). The Redblacks also surrendering the highest average yards per attempt (9.2) and have allowed the most passing TDs (13), setting up Adams for a day potentially replete with chunk gains and scores.

Zach Collaros, WPG vs. EDM ($8,300): Collaros continues to sport very modest salaries by CFL QB standards, especially considering he just came off a memorable 417-yard, two-touchdown effort that netted 27.7 DK points against the Lions in Week 9. The veteran's fantasy ceiling is usually much more subdued – he hadn't exceeded 19.1 DK points in any game prior to that breakout – but Collaros is steady if nothing else and has completed an impressive 73.0 percent of his passes at home while generating a 6:1 TD:INT there. He compiled 252 passing yards with a TD and INT against the Elks in Week 7 on the road, and although Edmonton remains at or near the top of the league in multiple pass defense metrics, Collaros can deliver nicely on his salary with one of his usual performances.

ALSO CONSIDER: Jeremiah Masoli, HAM vs. TOR ($9,900)

Running Back

William Stanback, MTL vs. OTT ($9,500): Stanback's three-game streak of 100-yard performances did come to an end in Week 9 against the Ti-Cats, but it appeared to be more a byproduct of lack of opportunity than anything else. Stanback logged just 12 carries and still averaged 4.9 yards each time he ran the ball, and he encouragingly totaled four catches for the second straight contest. He'll now have a chance to bounce right back in Week 10, facing a Redblacks team that he posted a 112-yard performance against back in Week 5 and is ranked last in rushing yards per game surrendered. What's more, Ottawa is allowing a healthy 4.9 yards per carry and is vulnerable to the pass as well, teeing up Stanback for a possible big two-way effort.

James Wilder, EDM at WPG ($9,100): Speaking of versatile backs, Wilder has averaged 17.7 DK points per contest and has been at his best on the road, where he's put up 18.7 DK points per game. He also racked up 25.1 against Winnipeg two games ago, aided by a pair of rushing TDs. Wilder has logged double-digit carries in every game thus far and multiple catches in all but one, and the Blue Bombers could continue to facilitate strong production for him. Winnipeg comes into the contest allowing 95.3 rushing yards per game at a CFL-high 5.5 yards per carry and has also allowed the third-most rushing TDs (six).

D.J. Foster, TOR at HAM ($5,300): Foster could be set for another start in place of John White (hamstring), who he replaced in Wednesday's win over Ottawa. Foster compiled 25.4 DK points on the strength of 144 total yards, which included a 63-yard touchdown reception. The former Arizona Cardinal is a threat through both the ground and air and already has two tallies of over 20 DK points this season. Given the high volume of touches he could see at his modest salary, Foster is worthy of consideration if you're looking to save some cash at one spot.

ALSO CONSIDER: William Powell, SSK vs. CGY ($9,400)

Wide Receiver/Slotback

Bralon Addison, HAM vs. TOR ($8,900): Addison jumped right back into the swing of things in his first game action in since 2019 in Week 9, as the versatile speedster posted 16 DK points on the strength of a 7-73 line through the air. Addison also saw two carries in the contest, and he notably racked up 218 rushing yards and a score on 36 carries in 2019 while posting a spectacular 95-1,236-7 line through the air, offering a glimpse at his considerable upside. He's seen a salary bump this week, but a matchup against an Argos defense that will be playing on short rest and that's allowing 265.7 passing yards per game at the second-highest completion rate (69.7 percent) could certainly help him to another productive effort.

Jake Wieneke, MTL vs. OTT ($7,300): Wieneke is rather quietly putting together a very strong season, having averaged 19.0 DK points per contest on the strength of a trio of 100-yard efforts. The sure-handed wideout has four touchdowns in his last four games alone and is averaging just under 78 receiving yards per contest, and the Redblacks facilitated a season-high 34.1 DK points for Weineke back in Week 5. As already outlined in Adams' entry, Ottawa has been a sieve against the pass, and in addition to the numbers already cited, it's also worth noting the Redbacks have allowed 14 completions of more than 30  yards, tied for most in the CFL.

Nic Demski, WPG vs. EDM ($6,600): Kenny Lawler, who posted a spectacular 12-205-1 line on 14 targets in Week 9, will miss the Week 10 contest due to a one-game suspension, which should open up even more opportunities than usual for Demski. The veteran is averaging 15.8 DK points per game, having posted double-digit fantasy-point tallies in every contest he's suited up for thus far. Demski has logged at least five targets in five of his six games as well, and he could certainly be the subject of more of Collaros' attention than usual in this contest.

Ryan Davis, OTT at MTL ($5,400): Davis has a salary that basically refuses to budge no matter what he does, which most recently, consists of generating tallies of 19.8 and 22.3 DK points in his last two games. The 24-year-old's role has expanded to include more downfield work as the season has gone on, as Davis has averaged between 13.0 and 18.5 yards per catch in five straight games after posting single-digit figures in each of the first three contests. Davis also has drawn 22 targets over the last two games from fill-in starter Caleb Evans, and the Alouettes come into the contest allowing 258.4 passing yards per game, 10 touchdown passes and the second-highest average yards per attempt (9.1), furthering Davis' case for another potentially busy and fruitful day.

ALSO CONSIDER: Eugene Lewis, MTL vs. OTT ($9,900)

Team Defense

Montreal Alouettes ($5,000) vs. Ottawa Redblacks: I just talked up Davis as a great value play, but the fact remains the Ottawa offense is prone to plenty of mistakes, especially with the talented but inexperienced Evans under center. The Als defense has averaged 7.9 DK points per game with a well-balanced line of 20 sacks, five interceptions, four fumble recoveries and two defensive TDs. They also rung up a co-season-high 14 DK points against Ottawa in their one prior meeting with the Redblacks, which come in tied for the most turnovers committed (19) and have also allowed the second-most sacks (21) and committed the second-most 2-and-outs (47). The Als also have the second-most points off turnovers (54), enhancing their case further.
