Glenn Maxwell (Melbourne Stars)
First on the list features Australia's Glenn Maxwell. The star all-rounder is the third-highest run-getter in the history of the competition with 3,241 runs to his name with an average of 35.22, along with a strike rate of over 155, which is the second-best in the tournament's history. Last year, Maxwell had a brilliant time with the bat, where he scored 325 runs in just nine innings with a strike rate of 186, which was the second-best amongst all batters who batted more than 100 balls. Stars' management will be hoping to have something similar from their star performer this season as well.
Mitchell Owen (Hobart Hurricanes)
Second on the list features Hobart Hurricanes' Mitchell Owen. The right-handed batter was undoubtedly the star of the season for the winning side last year, where he finished as the leading run-getter with 452 runs to his name. The most impressive aspect of his performance was his strike rate of over 20,3, which was the best amongst all the batters who faced more than 100 deliveries. Owen will hope to deliver similar performances to help the Hurricanes defend their title this year.
Luke Wood (Adelaide Strikers)
Third in the list features England's Luke Wood. The left-arm pacer has played in the BBL before, where he represented the Melbourne Stars and claimed 20 wickets in 14 matches with an economy rate of 8.85. This year, Wood will be representing a new franchise in the Strikers who signed him up after seeing some impressive numbers from the England international over the last 12 months. In 2025, Wood has taken 46 wickets in 39 matches, which is the most he has taken in a calendar year. His economy has been very impressive as well, where he has conceded just over eight runs per over. Wood's ability to bowl with the new ball as well as at the death makes him a valuable asset in T20 cricket.
Lockie Ferguson (Sydney Thunder)
Fourth in the list features New Zealand's Lockie Ferguson. The 34-year-old will be playing in the BBL for the second time this year. Last year, he featured in six matches for the Thunder and claimed eight wickets. On his day there are not many bowlers in the world who can bowl consistently as quickly as Ferguson, which makes him extremely dangerous, especially in conditions Down Under, where there is always more assistance for fast bowlers. The right-arm pacer has an exceptional record in T20 cricket, with 228 wickets in 189 innings at an economy rate of just under eight runs per over. The Thunder's management will hope that Ferguson can live up to the hype this season and deliver the kind of performances he has throughout his career.
Tim David (Hobart Hurricanes)
Last on the list features Australia's middle-order batter Tim David. The right-hander is famous for his hard-hitting, and he has shown it time and again, especially during the BBL, that he can turn the game in his side's favor in the space of a few overs. Overall, no batter in the history of BBL has scored quicker than David, who has scored 1,326 runs with a strike rate of 157.66. Last year, David was highly influential in the Hurricanes' triumph, where he contributed 254 runs with a strike rate of 177.62.
