Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.
Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:
- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.
These are the fantasy football rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"
These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.
Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

Quarterbacks
1. | Josh Allen BUF vs. NO |
2. | Lamar Jackson BAL at KC |
3. | *Jalen Hurts PHI at TB Note: Hurts and the Eagles rediscovered the wonders of the forward pass in a game that they were trailing 26-7; let's see if they turn to it as more than a last resort this week. |
4. | *Justin Herbert LAC at NYG Note: I never thought that I'd see a team coached by Jim Harbaugh and coordinated by Greg Roman have a game where the quarterback threw 47 passes, but Herbert is worthy of it. |
5. | Caleb Williams CHI at LV |
6. | *Jared Goff DET vs. CLE Note: Goff's stat line (202 passing yards, one touchdown) doesn't do justice to how well Goff played on Monday night. The Lions just happened to get the payoff of multiple drives on the ground. |
7. | Patrick Mahomes KC vs. BAL |
8. | *Daniel Jones IND at LAR Note: Jones connected on seven passes of at least 15 yards in the win over the Titans, once again averaging over nine yards per attempt. |
9. | *Brock Purdy SF vs. JAX Note: Purdy (toe) will resume practicing Wednesday and might be able to return this week. Meanwhile, Mac Jones has a PCL sprain in his left knee and is day-to-day in his own right. Purdy was limited at Wednesday's practice, as was Mac Jones. ***Purdy will get the start Sunday against the Jaguars.*** |
10. | Jordan Love GB at DAL |
11. | *Baker Mayfield TB vs. PHI Note: Mayfield's stat line was modest, but he was superb on Sunday against the Jets, overcoming an offensive line that was missing three starters and committed five holding penalties on the first drive alone. He might be getting Tristan Wirfs back this week, but he also lost Mike Evans to a hamstring injury. Mayfield (biceps) has been limited in practice so far this week. I'm moving him down more for the matchup rather than the injury - I originally had him fifth. ***Mayfield was limited all week but 'should be ok' to start. The Bucs will also get Chris Godwin (ankle) and Tristan Wirfs (knee) back this week, at least in some capacity.*** |
12. | Matthew Stafford LA vs. IND |
13. | Drake Maye NE vs. CAR |
14. | Geno Smith LV vs. CHI |
15. | *Dak Prescott DAL vs. GB Note: Prescott and the Cowboys will be without CeeDee Lamb (ankle) for 3-to-4 weeks, and his absence was noteworthy in Week 3 against the Bears. ***Getting some cold feet on Dak due to Lamb's absence and the matchup.*** |
16. | Bo Nix DEN vs. CIN |
17. | Kyler Murray ARZ vs. SEA |
18. | *Marcus Mariota WAS at ATL Note: Mariota was a top-10 fantasy quarterback last week, thanks to 40 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown to go along with 207 passing yards and another touchdown. Jayden Daniels (knee) is day-to-day this week. ***Daniels has been ruled out for the second week in a row, so we'll get the Mariota Revenge Game we didn't know we needed.*** |
19. | *Justin Fields NYJ at MIA Note: Jets coach Aaron Glenn said on Monday that he has no update on Fields (concussion). Fields fully practiced Thursday. As of Thursday afternoon he hadn't yet cleared the concussion protocol. Should that happen, I'll slid him in the late teens. ***Fields has cleared the concussion protocol and will start Monday night against the Dolphins.*** |
20. | Sam Darnold SEA at ARI |
21. | Trevor Lawrence JAC at SF |
22. | *Jaxson Dart NYG vs. LAC Note: Dart will get the start this week against the Chargers. I'd look for the Giants to call more RPO's, something they were already doing for a couple of plays. |
23. | *Carson Wentz MIN at PIT Note: Wentz will get the start again this week with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) already ruled out, and potentially beyond this week. Remember, the Vikings will play the next two weeks in Europe before having a bye in Week 6. ***J.J. McCarthy (ankle) has officially been ruled out for this week and he could get some limited practice in next week.*** |
24. | *Michael Penix ATL vs. WAS Note: Mea culpa time - I was wrong about Penix last week, and even if had rated him 22nd or 26th, it still would have been too optimistic. Kirk Cousins replaced him late in the loss to Carolina, and the Falcons made some changes after the game, having their OC move down from the booth to the sideline, and firing their WR coach. |
25. | C.J. Stroud HOU vs. TEN |
26. | *Jake Browning CIN at DEN Note: This was an ugly outing, but at least Browning goes from the Vikings on the road, to .... ugh, the Broncos on the road. |
27. | Tua Tagovailoa MIA vs. NYJ |
28. | *Bryce Young CAR at NE Note: Young wasn't asked to do much in the win over the Falcons, instead benefitting from great field position, a defensive score, and Atlanta's general ineptitude. |
29. | Joe Flacco CLE at DET |
30. | Aaron Rodgers PIT vs. MIN |
31. | *Cam Ward TEN at HOU Note: Ward's head coach Brian Callahan is going to step away from play-calling duties. Ward (ankle/calf) was limited Wednesday but practiced fully Thursday. |
32. | *Spencer Rattler NO at BUF Note: Rattler was replaced late in garbage time against the Seahawks by Tyler Shough. Rattler had been serviceable in home matchups over the first two weeks, but Week 3 was a reminder that his job security is very low. |
33. | *Mac Jones SF vs. JAX Note: Jones aggravated a PCL strain in his left knee in the win over the Cardinals, and his mobility was clearly hampered in the second half of that game. Jones is day-to-day, and Brock Purdy will practice on Wednesday, so this might be it for Jones as a starter in the near-term. Jones was limited at Wednesday's practice. ***Jones is listed as questionable for this week, and Brock Purdy will get the start.*** |
34. | *Tyrod Taylor NYJ at MIA Note: Teammate Justin Fields (concussion) fully practiced Thursday. ***Fields has cleared the concussion protocol, so Taylor will go back to the bench.*** |
35. | *Tyler Shough NO at BUF Note: Shough got a little bit of a run in garbage time against the Seahawks, and it serves as reminder that he'll probably get an extended look later this season. |
36. | Kirk Cousins ATL vs. WAS |
37. | *Russell Wilson NYG vs. LAC Note: It's only Week 4 and Wilson has already been benched for Jaxson Dart. |
38. | *Jayden Daniels WAS at ATL Note: Daniels (knee) remains day-to-day, and his next injury update will come on Wednesday. Daniels was limited both Wednesday and Thursday. He cryptically said that whether he plays Sunday is 'up to the doctors.' ***Daniels didn't practice Friday and will not play again this week. Marcus Mariota will get another start.*** |
39. | *J.J. McCarthy MIN at PIT Note: McCarthy (ankle) won't play in Week 4 against the Steelers in Dublin. ***McCarthy has been ruled out for Week 4, but he could get some limited practice in next week, even if he's unlikely to play in Week 5 against Cleveland.*** |
Running Backs
1. | Christian McCaffrey SF vs. JAX |
2. | Bijan Robinson ATL vs. WAS |
3. | *Derrick Henry BAL at KC Note: Henry now has fumbled in all three games this year. What's your level of concern with that, and his overall struggles the last two weeks? |
4. | James Cook BUF vs. NO |
5. | Jonathan Taylor IND at LAR |
6. | Jordan Mason MIN at PIT |
7. | *Saquon Barkley PHI at TB Note: Barkley struggled against the Rams, and it probably won't be much easier against the Bucs, especially if Lane Johnson (neck) can't play. |
8. | Bucky Irving TB vs. PHI |
9. | *Josh Jacobs GB at DAL Note: Jacobs (ankle) has been limited in practice for both practices so far this week. ***Jacobs was cleared from the injury report after another limited practice Friday.*** |
10. | Jahmyr Gibbs DET vs. CLE |
11. | De'Von Achane MIA vs. NYJ |
12. | Kyren Williams LA vs. IND |
13. | *Omarion Hampton LAC at NYG Note: Hampton is coming off of his best game and now will carry a much bigger workload, now that Najee Harris is out for the season. Hassan Haskins will be the backup. |
14. | J.K. Dobbins DEN vs. CIN |
15. | Quinshon Judkins CLE at DET |
16. | Travis Etienne JAC at SF |
17. | *Chuba Hubbard CAR at NE Note: Hubbard (calf) was limited at Thursday's practice. He wasn't on the injury list Wednesday. ***Hubbard was limited again on Friday, but he's expected to play against the Pats.*** |
18. | *Kenneth Walker SEA at ARI Note: Teammate Zach Charbonnet (foot) will return this week after sitting out last week. |
19. | Alvin Kamara NO at BUF |
20. | Ashton Jeanty LV vs. CHI |
21. | Javonte Williams DAL vs. GB |
22. | David Montgomery DET vs. CLE |
23. | *Breece Hall NYJ at MIA Note: Hall failed to get untracked against the Bucs. Some of that has to be attributed to the matchup, but also the absence of Justin Fields really hurt Hall's chances at finding rushing lanes. |
24. | *Cam Skattebo NYG vs. LAC Note: Skattebo is already ascendant, and now Tyrone Tracy will be out 2-to-4 weeks with a dislocated shoulder. Devin Singletary will be the backup. |
25. | TreVeyon Henderson NE vs. CAR |
26. | *D'Andre Swift CHI at LV Note: Swift (hip) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. ***Swift was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable.*** |
27. | *Trey Benson ARZ vs. SEA Note: With James Conner (foot) out for the season, it's now Benson's turn to step in as the starting back, with Emeri Demercado as the backup. |
28. | *Chase Brown CIN at DEN Note: Brown once again couldn't get untracked, and it doesn't get much easier this week at Denver. |
29. | Tony Pollard TEN at HOU |
30. | *Kenneth Gainwell PIT vs. MIN Note: ***Starting with Jaylen Warren inactive.*** |
31. | *Chris Rodriguez WAS at ATL Note: Rodriguez went from being a healthy scratch the first two weeks to starting in Week 3 and leading the Commanders in carries - albeit with only 11 carries. Teammate Jacory Croskey-Merritt (knee) has missed the first two practices of the week. |
32. | *Rhamondre Stevenson NE vs. CAR Note: Just when we started to feel good about Stevenson, his fumble issues cropped up in a big way, with him losing fumbles twice in the loss to the Steelers. His only saving grace was that Antonio Gibson also fumbled, and TreVeyon Henderson couldn't get untracked while getting more work. |
33. | Nick Chubb HOU vs. TEN |
34. | Kareem Hunt KC vs. BAL |
35. | Isiah Pacheco KC vs. BAL |
36. | *Bhayshul Tuten JAC at SF Note: Tuten (shoulder) was limited at Wednesday's practice. ***Tuten was cleared from the injury report on Friday.*** |
37. | Ollie Gordon MIA vs. NYJ |
38. | *Zach Charbonnet SEA at ARI Note: Charbonnet (foot) was listed as a full participant in Monday's estimated practice report after missing Sunday's game. Charbonnet is ACTIVE for Thursday night after a full practice Wednesday. |
39. | Tyler Allgeier ATL vs. WAS |
40. | *Blake Corum LA vs. IND Note: Corum had another strong game as a change-of-pace back, carrying eight times for 53 yards. |
41. | Rachaad White TB vs. PHI |
42. | Brian Robinson SF vs. JAX |
43. | Woody Marks HOU vs. TEN |
44. | *Jeremy McNichols WAS at ATL Note: Teammate Jacory Croskey-Merritt has missed the first two practices of the week. |
45. | Rico Dowdle CAR at NE |
46. | Braelon Allen NYJ at MIA |
47. | Jerome Ford CLE at DET |
48. | *Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS at ATL Note: Croskey-Merritt (knee) has missed the first two practices for the week. ***Croskey-Merritt fully practiced Friday and is listed as questionable.*** |
49. | Miles Sanders DAL vs. GB |
50. | *RJ Harvey DEN vs. CIN Note: Harvey was limited to five touches in the loss to the Chargers. It's possible that the game flow will work better for him this week with a home game against the Bengals. |
51. | *Kyle Monangai CHI at LV Note: Monangai was limited to 16 yards on six carries, but at least it's clear he's the top backup behind Swift. |
52. | Ray Davis BUF vs. NO |
53. | *Dylan Sampson CLE at DET Note: Sampson is clearly the third back for the Browns, getting just five offensive snaps. |
54. | *Devin Singletary NYG vs. LAC Note: Singletary will have a bigger role with Tyrone Tracy (shoulder) out. |
55. | Justice Hill BAL at KC |
56. | Kendre Miller NO at BUF |
57. | Ty Johnson BUF vs. NO |
58. | *Samaje Perine CIN at DEN Note: Perine suffered a thumb injury while fumbling during the Bengals' disastrous 2:00-drill, though it appears he avoided serious damage. Full practice Thursday. |
59. | Tahj Brooks CIN at DEN |
60. | *Hassan Haskins LAC at NYG Note: Haskins steps into the Chargers' backup role now that Najee Harris is out for the season. |
61. | Julius Chestnut TEN at HOU |
62. | DJ Giddens IND at LAR |
63. | *Cam Akers MIN at PIT Note: Akers played seven offensive snaps in garbage time against the Bengals. By rule he reverted back to the practice squad on Monday, but he'll probably be activated again this week. ***Akers was activated from the practice squad again.*** |
64. | Zamir White LV vs. CHI |
65. | AJ Dillon PHI at TB |
66. | Chris Brooks GB at DAL |
67. | Emari Demercado ARZ vs. SEA |
68. | Emanuel Wilson GB at DAL |
69. | LeQuint Allen JAC at SF |
70. | Zavier Scott MIN at PIT |
71. | George Holani SEA at ARI |
72. | Isaiah Davis NYJ at MIA |
73. | Dare Ogunbowale HOU vs. TEN |
74. | Sean Tucker TB vs. PHI |
75. | Jaylen Wright MIA vs. NYJ |
76. | *Will Shipley PHI at TB Note: Shipley (oblique) fully practiced Wednesday. |
77. | *Jaylen Warren PIT vs. MIN Note: Warren was given a rest day at practice Thursday. ***Warren was limited all week but is expected to be ready to go. ***EARLY REPORTS WERE WRONG, WARREN IS INACTIVEIIII*** |
78. | *Tyrone Tracy NYG vs. LAC Note: Tracy is out for 2-to-4 weeks with a dislocated shoulder. ***Tracy was officially listed as out on Friday.*** |
79. | *Najee Harris LAC at NYG Note: Harris suffered a season-ending Achilles' injury on a non-contact play. Officially placed on IR. |
80. | *James Conner ARZ vs. SEA Note: Conner (foot) is out for the season and has been placed on IR. |
Wide Receivers
1. | Puka Nacua LA vs. IND |
2. | Jaxon Smith-Njigba SEA at ARI |
3. | Amon-Ra St. Brown DET vs. CLE |
4. | Justin Jefferson MIN at PIT |
5. | *Nico Collins HOU vs. TEN Note: Collins (knee) was limited Wednesday but fully practiced Thursday. |
6. | A.J. Brown PHI at TB |
7. | *Malik Nabers NYG vs. LAC Note: Nabers briefly left Sunday night with a shoulder issue while breaking up a putative interception, but later returned. Now he has a new quarterback in Jaxson Dart throwing to him. Nabers sat out Wednesday's practice as part of his continuing maintenance, but returned to a limited practice Thursday. ***Nabers was cleared from the injury list. How will he mesh with new quarterback Jaxson Dart?*** |
8. | Ja'Marr Chase CIN at DEN |
9. | Garrett Wilson NYJ at MIA |
10. | Drake London ATL vs. WAS |
11. | *Davante Adams LA vs. IND Note: Adams (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday and Thursday. ***Adams was limited in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable.*** |
12. | Ladd McConkey LAC at NYG |
13. | *Brian Thomas JAC at SF Note: Thomas had two more drops in the win over the Texans, though he did come down with one critical long catch that led to the Jaguars' go-ahead touchdown. |
14. | *Tyreek Hill MIA vs. NYJ Note: ***Hill missed Saturday's practice for personal reasons, but he's not listed on the injury report for Monday night.*** |
15. | Keenan Allen LAC at NYG |
16. | Emeka Egbuka TB vs. PHI |
17. | *Tetairoa McMillan CAR at NE Note: McMillan (hamstring) sat out practice Wednesday but returned to a limited practice Thursday. ***McMillan is listed as questionable on the injury report but is expected to play.*** |

27. | Quentin Johnston LAC at NYG |
28. | Jakobi Meyers LV vs. CHI |
29. | *Jaylen Waddle MIA vs. NYJ Note: Waddle (shoulder) was limited at Thursday's practice, the Dolphins' first practice of the week. ***Full practice Friday.*** |
30. | DeVonta Smith PHI at TB |
31. | Tee Higgins CIN at DEN |
32. | *DJ Moore CHI at LV Note: Moore is already getting overshadowed by Rome Odunze, but it's possible that Luther Burden could also cut into his target share going forward. |
33. | Keon Coleman BUF vs. NO |
34. | Hollywood Brown KC vs. BAL |
35. | *Jameson Williams DET vs. CLE Note: Williams caught two passes on the opening drive on Monday night, and none afterwards. |
36. | *Jordan Addison MIN at PIT Note: Addison is back from his three-game suspension this week. |
37. | Josh Downs IND at LAR |
38. | Khalil Shakir BUF vs. NO |
39. | Chris Olave NO at BUF |
40. | Romeo Doubs GB at DAL |
41. | *Chris Godwin TB vs. PHI Note: Godwin (ankle) could come back this week - I'll wait until we get confirmation from the Bucs before moving him up in the rankings. If he were cleared to play after full practices, I'd probably put Godwin in the 30-40 range. Godwin fully practiced Wednesday and didn't practice Thursday. ***Godwin is expected to make his 2025 debut on Sunday.*** |
42. | Jerry Jeudy CLE at DET |
43. | *Calvin Ridley TEN at HOU Note: After rising up draft boards late in draft season, Ridley is *dropping* down the rankings now, with four drops in three games. |
44. | Wan'Dale Robinson NYG vs. LAC |
45. | Calvin Austin PIT vs. MIN |
46. | Kayshon Boutte NE vs. CAR |
47. | *Xavier Worthy KC vs. BAL Note: Worthy (shoulder) has fully practiced both Wednesday and Thursday. I tend to think he'll be on limited reps if he's active Sunday. ***Worthy has been cleared to play this week.*** |
48. | Elic Ayomanor TEN at HOU |
49. | *Cedric Tillman CLE at DET Note: Tillman (hip/hand) has been limited in practice this week. ***Tillman was cleared from the injury list after a full practice Friday.*** |
50. | Darnell Mooney ATL vs. WAS |
51. | Rashid Shaheed NO at BUF |
52. | *Jalen Tolbert DAL vs. GB Note: Tolbert's role increases with CeeDee Lamb out, but it's a pretty tough matchup against the Packers. |
53. | *Tre Tucker LV vs. CHI Note: I know this seems low after what happened last week, but to be honest, I need to see it again. I think it was just one of those confluences of schemes and matchups that worked for Tucker, and not something sustainable. |
54. | *Travis Hunter JAC at SF Note: Hunter had just two targets in the win over Houston. |
55. | Cooper Kupp SEA at ARI |
56. | Troy Franklin DEN vs. CIN |
57. | *Jauan Jennings SF vs. JAX Note: Jennings (shoulder/ankle) is day-to-day after missing Week 3. The Niners are getting DeMarcus Robinson (suspension) back this week, so that could lessen the urgency for the Niners to bring Jennings back. Jennings hasn't yet practiced this week. ***Jennings was limited in practice Friday, and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter is likely to play.*** |
58. | Stefon Diggs NE vs. CAR |
59. | Matthew Golden GB at DAL |
60. | Michael Wilson ARZ vs. SEA |
61. | Hunter Renfrow CAR at NE |
62. | Rashod Bateman BAL at KC |
63. | DeMario Douglas NE vs. CAR |
64. | *Tyquan Thornton KC vs. BAL Note: Thornton came within a review of scoring last week, and has been increasingly involved with Xavier Worthy (shoulder) out. ***Worthy returns this week, so Thornton could lose some snaps.*** |
65. | Olamide Zaccheaus CHI at LV |
66. | Ray-Ray McCloud ATL vs. WAS |
67. | Joshua Palmer BUF vs. NO |
68. | Christian Kirk HOU vs. TEN |
69. | *Darius Slayton NYG vs. LAC Note: Slayton (calf) practiced on a limited basis Thursday. |

72. | Dontayvion Wicks GB at DAL |
73. | JuJu Smith-Schuster KC vs. BAL |
74. | *Adonai Mitchell IND at LAR Note: ***Mitchell could get a few extra snaps due to Alec Pierce's concussion.*** |
75. | *Marvin Mims DEN vs. CIN Note: ***Mims is questionable for Monday night with a hip injury.*** |
76. | Jalen Nailor MIN at PIT |
77. | *Isaac TeSlaa DET vs. CLE Note: TeSlaa was limited to 14 snaps and two targets Monday night. |
78. | Jordan Whittington LA vs. IND |
79. | Luther Burden CHI at LV |
80. | DeAndre Hopkins BAL at KC |
81. | *Jayden Higgins HOU vs. TEN Note: Higgins still isn't getting much of a target volume, and the return of Christian Kirk doesn't help him. |
82. | Tory Horton SEA at ARI |
83. | *Parker Washington JAC at SF Note: Washington drew 11 targets in the win over the Texans, coming down with just four catches for 34 yards. With Dyami Brown (shoulder) banged up, that workload could continue this week. |
84. | Kendrick Bourne SF vs. JAX |
85. | Tyler Johnson NYJ at MIA |
86. | Tre' Harris LAC at NYG |
87. | Dont'e Thornton LV vs. CHI |

91. | Kalif Raymond DET vs. CLE |
92. | *Terry McLaurin WAS at ATL Note: McLaurin suffered a quad injury in the win over the Raiders and is undergoing further tests. McLaurin has missed both practices this week and went to see an independent core muscle specialist. ***McLaurin won't need surgery, but he's out for Week 4 and is considered week-to-week.*** |
93. | *Alec Pierce IND at LAR Note: Pierce suffered a concussion in the win over the Titans. Pierce hasn't yet practiced this week. ***Ruled out for Week 4.*** |
94. | *Dyami Brown JAC at SF Note: Brown left Sunday's win over the Texans with a shoulder injury. Didn't practice Wednesday, limited practice Thursday. ***Brown had another limited practice Friday and is questionable.*** |

96. | *Devaughn Vele NO at BUF Note: Vele (hip) sat out last week's loss to the Seahawks, and was limited in practice Thursday. |
97. | *Casey Washington ATL vs. WAS Note: Washington (concussion) had a full practice Thursday. |
