NFL Picks: Saints and Packers

Last week was a strong one for the Staff with Pianow going 9-4-1, and DDD and I going 8-5-1. I hate to throw a guy under the bus on his birthday, but what the hell - there's a bigger gap between fourth (Pianow) and fifth (Stopa - happy birthday, by the way) than first (Erickson) and fourth. Put differently, it's hard to spot Stopa in the rearview due to the curvature of the earth.

Consensus Picks

This week we have two consensus picks: the Saints and Packers. Last week we went 2-2 to put us at 13-19-2 on the season.

Erickson	Back to the well with the Bears again; the Ravens offense is a big mess, and I don't think their pass rush will work nearly as well on the road... If the sharps are right, the Chiefs are set up for the fall. Of course, all bets are off if Manning doesn't play. Broncos are my second best bet... Feel pretty weird, taking so many favorites, but there you are.
Pianowski	Ron Jaworski was the star in Philly's last home win.
Liss	I think the Texans will take out their frustrations on the Raiders this week. Other than that, the decisions on the Bucs, Browns and Saints were fairly obvious for me, but it's a suspicious obvious. Not enough suspicion to change the picks, but it's always off-putting when you don't have to think about it much.
Stopa	I get to sell the Jaguars high? That's possible? Sign me up. Massey-Peabody says AZ is 13 points better on a neutral field anyway... The Jets have been an awful matchup for the Bills in recent years, including earlier this season. The Texans are laying seven having lost seven straight games. That math doesn't add up... I'm surprised the Saints aren't laying 3.5 at home.
Del Don	To go along with the Broncos, my two other favorite bets this week are the Buccaneers and Saints.
