Week 13: KC vs. LV on Friday
Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.
Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:
- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.
These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"
These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.
Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.
When setting your lineups, make sure to refer to the NFL inactives to ensure all of your players are set to receive snaps.
I welcome

Quarterbacks
1. | Jalen Hurts PHI at BAL |
2. | Lamar Jackson BAL vs. PHI |
3. | Joe Burrow CIN vs. PIT |
4. | *Josh Allen BUF vs. SF Note: Allen could be playing in snowy conditions this week on Sunday night against the Niners. ***(Very) modest downgrade due to the weather conditions.*** |
5. | *Jayden Daniels WAS vs. TEN Note: In my opinion, Daniels had a better fantasy day than real life day, with the late miracle touchdown to McLaurin camouflaging an otherwise disappointing passing day. |
6. | *Kyler Murray ARZ at MIN Note: The Cardinals surprised me with their Week 12 dud against Seattle. |
7. | Baker Mayfield TB at CAR |
8. | Patrick Mahomes KC vs. LV |
9. | *Justin Herbert LAC at ATL Note: Herbert had an early rushing touchdown and it looked like it was going to be a high-scoring game, but his receivers' shortcomings limited his total output. |
10. | Kirk Cousins ATL vs. LAC |
11. | C.J. Stroud HOU at JAX |
12. | Jordan Love GB vs. MIA |
13. | *Matthew Stafford LA at NO Note: This could be a get-well week for Stafford, not that he played badly against the Eagles, but he probably won't be under siege as much against the Saints. |
14. | *Jared Goff DET vs. CHI Note: Starting tackle Taylor Decker (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday. |
15. | Russell Wilson PIT at CIN |
16. | *Bo Nix DEN vs. CLE Note: Nix (back) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice estimate - the Broncos play on Monday, so this was their first practice of the week. ***Nix had full practices Friday and Saturday and doesn't have an injury designation for Monday night.*** |
17. | Sam Darnold MIN vs. ARI |
18. | Geno Smith SEA at NYJ |
19. | *Anthony Richardson IND at NE Note: Richardson's line against the Colts is grisly, but as the Post Malone / Morgan Wallen song goes, he had some help. The Colts pass-catchers had multiple bad drops. |
20. | *Tua Tagovailoa MIA at GB Note: Last week was the best that Tua and the Dolphins' offense has looked this season, even though Tyreek Hill and the running game still didn't get unlocked. |
21. | Caleb Williams CHI at DET |
22. | *Brock Purdy SF at BUF Note: Purdy (shoulder) did some light throwing Monday and didn't have any issues, but the problems cropped back up last week on Thursday when he tried to ramp up his activity. Purdy only attempted two throws in the open portion of Wednesday's practice. ***Purdy upgraded to a full practice Friday and is expected to start Sunday night, though he's listed as questionable.*** |
23. | Jameis Winston CLE at DEN |
24. | *Bryce Young CAR vs. TB Note: Young is coming off of his best game when accounting for the degree of difficulty, and now he has a plus matchup against the Bucs. Can he actually be starter-worthy in SuperFlex leagues with a full schedule? I think so. |
25. | *Trevor Lawrence JAC vs. HOU Note: Lawrence returned to practice Monday, and there's a chance he could play this week against the Texans, even if his shoulder needs surgery in the offseason. It's not yet set that Lawrence will return - he has had two limited practices so far. ***Coach Doug Pederson however said that Lawrence is having a good week of practice and is trending towards playing. ***Lawrence had a better practice Friday and looked more comfortable throwing.*** |
26. | *Will Levis TEN at WAS Note: Levis has been such a boom or bust player, but at least more 'booms' have been occurring recently. But his inability to avoid a pass rush is really concerning. |
27. | Derek Carr NO vs. LAR |
28. | Drake Maye NE vs. IND |
29. | *Cooper Rush DAL vs. NYG Note: Rush (knee) was limited on Monday's practice estimate. |
30. | *Aaron Rodgers NYJ vs. SEA Note: The Jets shut down rumors that they might shut down Rodgers, and he will absolutely start this week. |
31. | *Drew Lock NYG at DAL Note: Lock took extra snaps in practice due to Tommy DeVito tending to a forearm injury. It appears more likely that Lock will start ahead of DeVito, but there are conflicting reports and that's not guaranteed. |
32. | *Aidan O'Connell LV at KC Note: O'Connell (thumb) has been designated to return from the IR, and he could be in line to start over Desmond Ridder on Friday, with Gardner Minshew out for the season. O'Connell was activated from IR and officially named the starter for Friday. |
33. | *Brandon Allen SF at BUF Note: Allen could be playing in snowy conditions this week on Sunday night against the Bills. This is assuming of course that Brock Purdy (shoulder) is unable to go. |
34. | *Tommy DeVito NYG at DAL Note: DeVito was limited in Tuesday's practice with a forearm injury, and isn't 100 percent certain to play Thursday against the Cowboys. DeVito (forearm) appears less likely to start this week, but it's not fully settled yet. |
35. | *Desmond Ridder LV at KC Note: It looks like Aidan O'Connell (thumb) will be ready to return this week and start ahead of Ridder, with Gardner Minshew out for the season. |
36. | *Mac Jones JAC vs. HOU Note: Teammate Trevor Lawrence could return this week. |
37. | *Gardner Minshew LV at KC Note: Minshew broke his collarbone in the loss to the Broncos and is out for the season. Minshew was officially placed on IR. |
Running Backs
1. | Bijan Robinson ATL vs. LAC |
2. | Jahmyr Gibbs DET vs. CHI |
3. | Saquon Barkley PHI at BAL |
4. | Derrick Henry BAL vs. PHI |
5. | Joe Mixon HOU at JAX |
6. | Alvin Kamara NO vs. LAR |
7. | *Josh Jacobs GB vs. MIA Note: Jacobs briefly left against the Niners with cramping, only to return later. |
8. | Kyren Williams LA at NO |
9. | De'Von Achane MIA at GB |
10. | Aaron Jones MIN vs. ARI |
11. | Kenneth Walker SEA at NYJ |
12. | *Chuba Hubbard CAR vs. TB Note: Hubbard remains the Panthers' lead back - Jonathon Brooks saw just two carries last week. |
13. | Christian McCaffrey SF at BUF |
14. | *James Conner ARZ at MIN Note: Conner was stifled by the Seahawks last week, and has a tough matchup against the Vikings this week. ***Conner signed a two-year extension with the Cardinals.*** |
15. | *David Montgomery DET vs. CHI Note: Montgomery (shoulder) was limited in Tuesday's walk-through. The Lions have the first Thursday game, so there's little time for Montgomery to fully heal. That said, coach Dan Campbell said he felt good about Montgomery's chances of playing Thursday. Montgomery fully practiced Wednesday. The Lions still list him as questionable, but it appears that he will play. |
16. | Jonathan Taylor IND at NE |
17. | James Cook BUF vs. SF |
18. | *Tony Pollard TEN at WAS Note: Teammate Tyjae Spears (concussion) is practicing this week, so it appears likely that Pollard will have to split the workload again this week. |
19. | Chase Brown CIN vs. PIT |
20. | *Breece Hall NYJ vs. SEA Note: Hall popped up on the injury list Wednesday with a knee issue. Hall returned to a limited practice Thursday. His status against the Seahawks on Sunday remains uncertain. ***Hall fully practiced Friday - he's listed as questionable but is expected to play.*** |
21. | Najee Harris PIT at CIN |
22. | Bucky Irving TB at CAR |
23. | *Rico Dowdle DAL vs. NYG Note: Dowdle will get one key offensive lineman back in Tyler Smith (ankle), but Zack Martin (ankle) will miss another game. |
24. | *Tyrone Tracy NYG at DAL Note: Tracy lost another fumble, this time on a direct snap play in the red zone. He played later in the game, but Devin Singletary got an easy touchdown instead of him. |
25. | *Kareem Hunt KC vs. LV Note: If Pacheco plays I'll probably downgrade Hunt by 5-10 spots. Pacheco has been activated from the IR. |
26. | Rachaad White TB at CAR |
27. | Nick Chubb CLE at DEN |
28. | *Gus Edwards LAC at ATL Note: Teammate J.K. Dobbins left Monday night with a knee injury. Dobbins will miss some time with a sprained MCL, so Edwards is lined up to start in the near term. |
29. | *Brian Robinson WAS vs. TEN Note: Robinson twice left Sunday's loss against the Cowboys due to an ankle injury, and wasn't able to return the second time. Robinson has been limited for the first two days of practice. ***Robinson upgraded to a full practice Friday and has been cleared from the injury list.*** |
30. | *D'Andre Swift CHI at DET Note: OL Ryan Bates (concussion) won't play Thursday, making a tough task for Swift a little tougher. |
31. | Rhamondre Stevenson NE vs. IND |
32. | *Isiah Pacheco KC vs. LV Note: Pacheco (ankle) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice. It's more likely that he returns this week after sitting out in Week 12. Pacheco has officially been activated off IR, so the presumption is he'll play. I'll be honest - I don't really know how much he'll play in this first week back. I have a chance to activate him in one league and I'm leaning towards doing it over Jauan Jennings as a flex. |
33. | *Jeremy McNichols WAS vs. TEN Note: McNichols should be in line for more carries this week, perhaps as a lead back if both Brian Robinson (ankle) and Austin Ekeler (concussion) are out. Chris Rodriguez has been signed from the practice squad as potential competition. ***Ekeler is out, but it looks like Robinson will play.*** |
34. | *Ameer Abdullah LV at KC Note: Downgraded a couple of slots with the possibility that Alexander Mattison (ankle) returns. ***Nevermind, Mattison is out after all.*** |
35. | Jaylen Warren PIT at CIN |
36. | *Tank Bigsby JAC vs. HOU Note: Bigsby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. |
37. | Tyler Allgeier ATL vs. LAC |
38. | Javonte Williams DEN vs. CLE |
39. | Travis Etienne JAC vs. HOU |
40. | Justice Hill BAL vs. PHI |
41. | *Chris Rodriguez WAS vs. TEN Note: The Commanders signed Rodriguez from their practice squad to their active roster. Both Brian Robinson (ankle) and Austin Ekeler (concussion) are nursing injuries. ***Ekeler is out, but it looks like Robinson will play.*** |
42. | Roschon Johnson CHI at DET |
43. | Ray Davis BUF vs. SF |
44. | Kenneth Gainwell PHI at BAL |
45. | Cam Akers MIN vs. ARI |
46. | Devin Singletary NYG at DAL |
47. | *Tyjae Spears TEN at WAS Note: Spears (concussion) was limited Wednesday and had a full practice Thursday. ***Spears fully practiced again Friday; he's listed as questionable but is expected to play.*** |
48. | Zach Charbonnet SEA at NYJ |
49. | Trey Benson ARZ at MIN |
50. | Jerome Ford CLE at DEN |
51. | Jaylen Wright MIA at GB |
52. | Braelon Allen NYJ vs. SEA |

56. | Jordan Mason SF at BUF |

58. | Samaje Perine KC vs. LV |
59. | Tyler Goodson IND at NE |
60. | Antonio Gibson NE vs. IND |
61. | Blake Corum LA at NO |
62. | Ty Johnson BUF vs. SF |
63. | *Raheem Mostert MIA at GB Note: Mostert appears to have been surpassed by Jaylen Wright. |
64. | Keaton Mitchell BAL vs. PHI |
65. | Khalil Herbert CIN vs. PIT |
66. | Ezekiel Elliott DAL vs. NYG |
67. | *Kimani Vidal LAC at ATL Note: Vidal has been a healthy scratch lately, but with J.K. Dobbins hurt, he'll probably be back in the picture. |
68. | Julius Chestnut TEN at WAS |
69. | *Alexander Mattison LV at KC Note: Mattison (ankle) was estimated as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice. Mattison was limited all week and is listed as questionable. ***Inactive.*** |

71. | *J.K. Dobbins LAC at ATL Note: Dobbins suffered a knee injury late in the first half on Monday night and didn't return. Dobbins has a sprained MCL and is expected to miss some time. ***Dobbins has been placed on IR by the Chargers and will miss at least four weeks.*** |
72. | *Austin Ekeler WAS vs. TEN Note: Ekeler sustained his second concussion of the season on a kick return at the end of the game. No practices so far this week. ***Placed on IR by the Commanders.*** |

40. | *Christian Watson GB vs. MIA Note: Watson had a horrendous drop right before halftime on a play that was almost certain to go for a touchdown. |
41. | *Alec Pierce IND at NE Note: Pierce could be in line for more targets if Josh Downs (shoulder) is unable to play. Pierce has injury issues of his own, sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday with a foot issue. ***Pierce fully practiced Friday and is expected to play, even though he's listed as questionable.*** |
