Alex Singleton

Alex Singleton

31-Year-Old LinebackerLB
Denver Broncos
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Singleton emerged as one of the top tacklers in the league, and he peaked with 177 tackles in 2023. His 2024 was cut short by a torn ACL after only three games, but he is expected to be ready for the start of 2025. Despite his gaudy tackle totals, Singleton's production profile is fragile. He's had missed tackle rates of at least 11 percent in four of his five seasons and allowed a 110.1 quarterback rating when targeted in his career. The good news from Singleton's perspective is that the Broncos don't have many viable alternatives, as Justin Strnad struggled considerably as one of the players who stepped in for him after the injury. All told, there's significant downside for Singleton -- especially given that he's coming off of a major injury -- but his track record and Denver's depth chart suggest he'll have at least a significant two-down role. ANALYSIS
Singleton is on track to make his return to action after missing the team's Week 11 win over the Chiefs as a result of his ongoing recovery from surgery to treat testicular cancer. The linebacker will have a chance to practice two more times this week before Sunday's contest against the Commanders.

2021
Singleton has topped 120 tackles in four straight seasons, giving him a strong floor to start from. The question will be just how high his ceiling may be. We got a glimpse of that in 2023, as he topped 1,000 snaps for the first time in his career and put up an impressive 177 tackles. The Broncos did little to add to their middle linebacker corps this offseason, setting Singleton up for another big season. Singleton has proven to be strong defender against the run, but he is rarely used as a pass rusher so his fantasy contributions will come primarily in the form of tackles.
Singleton, who racked up a career-high 163 tackles in 2022, signed a three-year deal with the Broncos in March, which rewarded the team's leading tackler after he grossly outperformed the one-year deal he signed last offseason. Singleton recorded double-digit tackle totals in seven games last season, while also making at least 20 tackles in two games. In 2023, Singleton should continue to make plays on a defense that could be one of the league's strongest units, thus putting the 29-year-old linebacker in line to remain a strong IDP option.
Singleton signed a one-year contract with the Broncos in March after leading the Eagles in tackles in each of the last two seasons. The 28-year-old joins a strong defensive unit with talented playmakers at every level. Singleton should start at inside linebacker and will look to make impact plays for Denver in 2022.
Perhaps Singleton isn't a great linebacker in real-life terms, but he was golden as an IDP in 2020, and the Eagles don't appear to have the necessary linebacker personnel to take his reps away. So long as he remains in a three-down role, Singleton should once again be IDP gold. Singleton produced 88 tackles and two sacks in the final eight weeks last season, illustrating top-shelf LB1 upside. The reason he's ranked this low is due to Philadelphia's scheme change — new coordinator Jonathan Gannon could put Singleton in position to produce like last year, but it's not a given.

ANALYSIS
Singleton underwent surgery for testicular cancer and was sidelined in Denver's Week 11 win over Kansas City. He has reportedly made encouraging steps in his recovery and is trending toward returning following the team's Week 12 bye, although his level of practice activity coming out of the bye will offer a clearer picture of his availability.
