2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Tuten (5-9, 206) is one of the fastest running backs in the league (4.32-second 40) and a proven threat to make the defense pay the long-distance price for poor containment, but so is Travis Etienne. The difference to Jacksonville is that Etienne is on the last year of his rookie contract, and Tuten as a rookie fourth-round pick is probably somewhat raw in the meantime. Taking whatever Etienne can give this year before moving to Tuten beyond 2025 is clearly a reasonable plan. To take on a leading role Tuten will need to significantly improve his ball security and passing-down abilities. Fellow Jacksonville runner Tank Bigsby fumbles too much, yet Tuten's collegiate fumbling in comparison is magnitudes worse. Tuten was credited with 10 fumbles on just 428 total touches in his two years at Virginia Tech, and if he keeps fumbling at anything similar to that rate then he simply will not play. Sometimes running backs just need to brush up on the fundamentals, though, and if Tuten can do that then his loud speed could be a big part of the Jacksonville offense, including in 2025 if the opportunity arises. RANKS
Joins Jaguars' backfield
The Jaguars selected Tuten in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 104th overall.
ANALYSIS
Tuten was lightly recruited coming out of high school but emerged as a key contributor at Virginia Tech during his final two years in college, combining to score 25 touchdowns while handling 356 total carries. He then helped his draft stock further by running an impressive 4.32 40-yard dash at the combine while also showing a lot of burst in short-area drills. Tuten's landing spot isn't likely to lead to production early in the 2025 season, as both Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby are in the mix, but this will be a situation worth monitoring with a new coaching staff making decisions.

Intriguing landing spot in mock
Chad Reuter of NFL.com's mock draft 2.0 has Tuten going to the Chiefs in the fourth round.
ANALYSIS
Kansas City would be an enticing landing spot for Tuten, who would bring a speed element that the Chiefs' current running back room lacks. Coach Andy Reid is adept at getting the ball to speedsters in space, and Tuten's draft stock has been rising after he stood out at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Virginia Tech product's 4.32-second 40-yard dash was the fastest among running backs.
