Tank Bigsby

22-Year-Old Running BackRB
2023 Fantasy Outlook
A third-round pick in this year's draft, Bigsby is an upright runner with a poor anchor at 6-0, 210, but he perhaps can offset that concern with above-average burst (4.56 40, 1.54 10-yard split) and creativity as a runner. He was a good but not great starter at Auburn the last three years, totaling 2,903 yards and 25 touchdowns on 540 carries (5.4 YPC) in 35 games. Bigsby's unremarkable production indicates average skill as a runner, and his combine testing confirmed he is only an average athlete, so for him to emerge as a fantasy standout likely will require favorable circumstances. On the other hand, Travis Etienne can only take so much work and the incumbent Jacksonville backups aren't special, so Bigsby doesn't need to do much to emerge as the No. 2. Free-agent acquisition D'Ernest Johnson is the main obstacle, and he got less than $1 million guaranteed on a one-year contract. Read Past Outlooks

Quiet rookie campaign

January 16, 2024
Bigsby rushed three times for 16 yards and returned four kickoffs for 99 yards during Jacksonville's Week 18 loss to Tennessee. He finished the season with 50 rushes for 132 yards and two touchdowns plus one catch for six yards.
ANALYSIS
The rookie third-round pick opened and finished the season as the Jags' primary backup tailback, but he worked in the No. 3 role from Week 12 to Week 16. Starter Travis Etienne played in all 17 games and was the clear workhorse in the backfield, leaving minimal opportunities for Jacksonville's other backs. The only other running back on the roster, D'Ernest Johnson, is set to become a free agent, so Bigsby has a strong chance of opening 2024 in the No. 2 role once again.

Set for bigger role next season
RBJacksonville Jaguars
March 25, 2024
Bigsby is expected to get more touches in 2024 as the Jaguars try to keep Travis Etienne from wearing down, Josh Alper of NBC Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bigsby was drafted in the third round in 2023 to take some of the workload off Etienne, but he wound up seeing only 50 carries over 17 games and actually fell behind D'Ernest Johnson on the depth chart at times as he struggled to adjust to the NFL and had some early issues with ball security. Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson indicated earlier this month that the team still viewed Bigsby as a key part of the backfield, however, saying the Auburn product would "have a bigger impact for us this year." Etienne finished third in the NFL with 325 touches last season and saw his yards per carry drop from 5.1 to 3.8, so the Jaguars have plenty of incentive to cut back his volume and find more work for Bigsby.
