No player acquisition during the Texans' offseason created the level of buzz that Anderson did. After selecting quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick in April's draft, Houston boldly traded up from 12th to third to select Anderson. At Alabama, Anderson was the type of defensive end for whom opponents needed to scheme. The two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year winner steps immediately into an edge rusher spot for Houston, which had issues getting to the quarterback and stopping the run in 2022. Recovering from labrum surgery
Perryman is recovering from offseason labrum surgery and didn't practice Tuesday at OTAs, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Perryman recorded 237 tackles over 27 games in two seasons with Las Vegas, but he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 16 last year. He agreed to a one-year deal with the Texans this offseason and presumably had to pass a physical, but he remains sidelined to start Houston's offseason program. It's unclear when he'll be able to play again, but whenever he's healthy, the veteran linebacker figures to compete for a sizable role in the Texans' defense.

Perryman was the Raiders' only linebacker to surpass the century mark in tackles last season, and he did so with 154 total take-downs (102 solo) while pacing the position unit in defensive snaps by a wide margin. He's back in Las Vegas on the final year of his current deal, and once again poised to play a significant role after making his first career Pro Bowl in 2021.
