Adds muscle in offseason

May 28, 2025
Oweh told reporters Wednesday that he added 20 pounds of muscle this offseason, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2021 first-round draft pick also said the weight addition was an attempt to become more explosive. Oweh is coming off the best season of his four-year NFL career, recording 39 total tackles, including 10.0 sacks, and one forced fumble over 17 regular-season games. With the added weight and increased explosiveness, he's expected to continue causing problems for opposing quarterbacks in 2025.

2021
Though Baltimore picked up Oweh's fifth-year option this offseason, this is still a pivotal year for the 2021 first-rounder. Oweh has not quite tapped into his immense potential through three seasons. At 6-5 with 34.5-inch arms and 4.39 speed, the tools are there for Oweh to thrive. 13 career sacks for an edge rusher shows that there's still a way to go for Oweh, however. There's risk in drafting Oweh given his track record, but those who believe in a breakout could be handsomely rewarded if he puts it all together.
The 2021 first-rounder is looking to get on track after two uneven seasons to start his career. Oweh is clearly a toolsy athlete with the length (34.5-inch arms at 6-foot-5) and speed (4.39 40) to be a disruptive pass rusher. He needs to maximize those gifts, however, as he registered just three sacks on 611 snaps last season. This is a pivotal campaign for Oweh as Baltimore will make a decision on his fifth-year option next spring and the Ravens spent a fourth-round pick on an edge rusher to bring in extra competition.
The rookie first-rounder could bring a spark to a pass rush that is badly in need of one, especially after Matthew Judon's departure. Oweh did not record a sack in his last season at Penn State, but his film and elite athleticism still made him worthy of a first-round pick. He will compete for an immediate role as he projects as arguably the Ravens' best pass-rushing prospect despite the lack of collegiate production.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
To be replaced by Green after 2025?
LBBaltimore Ravens
May 25, 2025
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic believes the Ravens could view rookie second-round pick Mike Green as a replacement for Oweh down the line.
ANALYSIS
While the team could look to extend Oweh prior to the 2025 campaign, Zrebiec believes it's more likely that the Ravens prioritize extensions elsewhere. Should Oweh post double-digit sacks for a second consecutive season in 2025, he'll likely price himself out of Baltimore's plans and take more money elsewhere as a free agent in the 2025 offseason.
