2025 Fantasy Outlook
Character concerns dropped Burton to 80th overall in the 2024 Draft, following a college career in which he topped 400 yards in four straight seasons for Georgia and Alabama. Unfortunately, his pro career may already be on the ropes after he failed to gain a foothold during his rookie season. There were multiple reports last year about the Bengals being frustrated, and Burton didn't even travel with the team for a Week 18 game at Pittsburgh. If he can get things straightened out, Burton has the talent to emerge as a capable No. 3 receiver alongside Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in Cincinnati's high-flying offense. Burton has 4.45 speed and decent size (6-feet, 196 pounds), which makes him both smaller and slower than incumbent No. 3 receiver Andrei Iosivas, but with superior agility and route-running instincts to potentially make up for it. Either way, the No. 3 job isn't likely to entail many targets when Chase and Higgins both are healthy. Read Past Outlooks

Impressing at camp
Head coach Zac Taylor told reporters Wednesday that Burton has "done a good job" this offseason, Chris Roling of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Burton, a 2024 third-round pick from Alabama, struggled throughout his rookie campaign, catching just four passes for 107 yards and tallying 378 kick-return yards over 14 games. Additionally, the Bengals had concerns about the 23-year-old's character, as he missed a pregame walkthrough and was involved in other incidents during the 2024 season. However, Taylor seems to be impressed with Burton's progression this offseason. If he can continue to impresses Cincinnati's staff this summer, Burton could serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver in 2025.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Bengals used a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL to select Burton, a deep threat at both Georgia and Alabama who ran a 4.45-second 40-yard dash at the combine. He topped 400 receiving yards in each of his four collegiate seasons, yet never reached 800 while mostly playing in run-first offenses. In Cincinnati, the rookie likely will have to settle for an opportunity to compete for the No. 3 receiver job. Ja'Marr Chase is back as the unquestioned No. 1, and the Bengals don't seem inclined to trade Tee Higgins even if contract negotiations remain at a standstill. If Burton wins the No. 3 job, he won't necessarily be slot-based the way Tyler Boyd was in recent seasons, as both Chase and Higgins are more than capable working inside. At 6-0, 196 pounds, Burton might fit better on the perimeter, where he can challenge defenses downfield without seeing a large number of targets. Any hope for considerable target volume probably entails Chase or Higgins missing time.

Praised by QB
In Tuesday's press conference, Joe Burrow praised the growth he has seen in Burton's maturity this spring, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Burton struggled to acclimate to the NFL as a rookie, both on and off the field. The 2024 third-round draft pick finished his rookie campaign with only four catches and was suspended by the team during the season. Burrow has been impressed with how Burton has been handling his business early in camp as Burton angles for a larger role in a Bengals receiving corps that has Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas ahead of Burton on the depth chart.
