2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mitchell missed the first half of the 2024 season while completing his recovery from a knee injury, and once he did join the Ravens' backfield, there was little work for him behind workhorse Derrick Henry. Mitchell didn't get a carry until Week 17, and he wasn't used on offense at all during Baltimore's playoff run. He did show flashes of his big-play potential as a kick returner and receiver however, and should the 31-year-old Henry begin to break down in 2025, Mitchell might be better positioned than Justice Hill or Rasheen Ali to step into the lead role. Knee
December 9, 2025
An MRI on Mitchell's knee came back clean after he exited Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Steelers, and the running back's injury is viewed as minor, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Before leaving early Sunday, the explosive Mitchell made an impact during his limited time on the field, contributing 76 rushing yards and a touchdown on six totes while bringing back three kickoffs for 72 yards. Though Mitchell has proven to be a potent complementary piece out of the backfield over his first three NFL season, durability is becoming a growing concern for the 23-year-old. Mitchell previously tore the ACL in his left knee back in December 2023, but fortunately, his latest knee issue appears to be less significant. The Ravens are categorizing Mitchell as day-to-day, leaving the door open for him to potentially be available this Sunday in Cincinnati.

2023
Few players' 2023 seasons were as anguishing to witness as Mitchell's, because the feel-good story of the undersized, undrafted speed demon who rose to improbable stardom gave way to the story of Mitchell's gruesome, season-ending knee injury. Although reported as a mere ACL tear, Mitchell's injury looked much worse than that and may ultimately be revealed to have entailed additional damage. The timing of the injury (Dec. 17) presents him with a challenge to be ready for Week 1, and even if that happens he'll just be a change-of-pace runner behind offseason addition Derrick Henry.
An undrafted free agent out of East Carolina, Mitchell signed on with the Ravens this spring and it was an interesting fit that seemed to put him in position to crack the roster with a good camp. Mitchell has some legitimate talent; he averaged 6.9 yards per carry over his final two seasons at East Carolina (375 attempts) and was a threat in the passing game as well with 49 catches on 68 targets for 505 yards. Shortly before training camp, though, Baltimore added veteran Melvin Gordon to the backfield. Whereas Mitchell once looked like he only had to beat out Justice Hill for the final running back spot on the roster, now it would likely take some tough injury luck elsewhere in the backfield for Mitchell to open the year anywhere but the practice squad. He has the type of speed (4.37) and pass-catching ability to bolster some deep dynasty value, but his chances of making an impact in 2023 are minimal.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Drew interest at trade deadline
RBBaltimore Ravens
December 8, 2025
Mitchell was the subject of trade inquiries from multiple teams at the trade deadline, but the Ravens rebuffed the offers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
That decision has paid dividends for Baltimore in recent weeks, as Mitchell scored a touchdown in Week 13 and broke free for a 55-yard run in Week 14, although he also picked up a knee injury in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. Over his three seasons in the NFL, the undrafted back has only 93 total carries in 22 regular-season games but has averaged 7.0 yards per carry, making him a dangerous change-of-pace option behind Derrick Henry. Mitchell will be a restricted free agent this offseason, but given the Ravens' reluctance to trade him, it seems likely that they will attempt to bring him back in 2026.
