2025 Fantasy Outlook
McMillan's college career was about as good as it gets, starting with a 702-yard, eight-TD showing in 2022 as a true freshman at Arizona. He then put up 90-1,402-10 in 2023 and 84-1,319-8 in 2024, maintaining his massive production last season even as the rest of the Wildcats offense fell off a cliff (no other player had more than 323 receiving yards or three receiving TDs). McMillan is one of the NFL's largest wide receivers, having measured in at 6-foot-4, 219 pounds, at the 2025 Combine. He didn't work out at the combine, instead waiting until his pro day, where reports put his 40-yard dash between 4.48 and 4.55 seconds. That's below average for a WR in general, but above average for a receiver his size, and it didn't dissuade the Panthers from drafting McMillan eighth overall. It's a favorable landing spot to earn immediate playing time, with incumbent starters Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker having combined for 1,590 receiving yards last year. The biggest question, apart from McMillan needing to prove himself at the next level, is whether Bryce Young's improvement from the latter portion of last season will continue into 2025 and give Carolina decent QB play for the first time in years. Leg
June 12, 2025
McMillan (leg) is not participating in Carolina's final session of mandatory minicamp Thursday as a precautionary measure, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Panthers coach Dave Canales said McMillan took a hit to the leg Tuesday while accidentally colliding with a defensive back, per Joe Person of The Athletic, causing the rookie first-round pick to be held out of the final two days of mandator minicamp. All signs are that McMillan's absence from on-field work is purely precautionary, but the next chance to see him at team practices won't come until training camp in July. A minor injury at this stage of the summer doesn't move the needle in terms of projecting McMillan's production Year 1, so if an abundance of caution causes his ADP to slide in early fantasy drafts it could be an opportunity to pounce.

Working at all WR spots
WRCarolina Panthers
June 29, 2025
McMillan has been deployed at every receiver spot in practice and been "as advertised," per David Newton of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
McMillan's presence has created competition across Carolina's wide receiver room, and his versatility should allow the eighth overall pick to stay on the field in all situations in his rookie season. McMillan's primary competition for playing time will come from second-year pros Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker on the outside, as well as veteran Adam Thielen in the slot. The Panthers have taken a cautious approach with McMillan after a collision in practice caused a leg injury, but the injury isn't expected to affect his availability for training camp in July.
