Thursday is the final day of February, and what does it have in store for us? Well, seven NHL games, for starters. On that front, here are my recommendations for your daily fantasy lineup.
GOALIE
Darcy Kuemper, ARI vs. VAN ($7,800): The year 2019 is certainly treating Kuemper well. In 19 games since the new year he has a 2.32 GAA and .923 save percentage. As for the Canucks, they have scored 2.75 goals per game, but on top of that they are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.
CENTER
Paul Stastny, VGK vs. FLA ($5,300):Stastny may only have seven goals in 34 games, but he also has 20 assists, so there's not much to complain about. Since returning from his early-season injury, he's been on fire. It wouldn't be surprising if that continues to be the case, as the Panthers have a 3.77 road GAA.
Colin White, OTT vs. EDM ($4,500): After all the trades, somebody has to step up for the Senators. White will get his chance. He's now the de facto number-one center for Ottawa, and he does have 13 goals, including five on the power play. The Oilers have the 29th-ranked penalty kill, and on top of that they are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back.
WING
Alexander Radulov, DAL at LOS ($5,700): Radulov has a point in three-straight games, including two with the extra man. Those power-play points have given him 16 of those in 52 contests. Meanwhile, the Kings have the 30th-ranked penalty kill. If that's not enticing enough, the Kings also have a 3.69 GAA in February.
Clayton Keller, ARI vs. VAN ($5,500): Keller recently broke a lengthy goal drought, and he has a point in each of his last two games. That gives him 40 points on the season, including 17 with the extra man. The Canucks, as previously mentioned, are playing on the road for their second game in as many days. That could mean Thatcher Demko in net, and he's played in only one game all season.
Josh Bailey, NYI vs. TOR ($4,800): Bailey has nine points in his last nine games, giving him 47 points total in 62 contests. The Maple Leafs are also on the road for the second night of a back-to-back, and they've allowed 33.1 shots on net per game away from home. They will also be starting Garret Sparks, who has a .908 save percentage.
DEFENSE
Oscar Klefbom, EDM at OTT ($4,300): Since returning from injury, Klefbom has three points and 30 shots on goal in 11 games. Overall, the Swede has 122 shots in 42 games after having over 200 shots on net in each of his last two campaigns. Now he's facing a Senators team that has allowed 36.4 shots on net per contest, highest in the NHL.
Jon Merrill, VGK vs. FLA ($3,600): Merrill has started 65.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Golden Knights. He doesn't have a ton of points on the season, but he does have five points in my last 10 contests. As previously noted, the Panthers have a 3.77 GAA in away games.
