This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.
It's a light Monday with only two games on the slate. However, that doesn't mean you can't play daily fantasy hockey. You still have some decisions to make, so here are some recommendations…
GOALIE
Dallas Stars, DAL at CAR ($15,300): The Hurricanes may be at home, but they have a 2-2-3 record in Raleigh this year. The Stars, meanwhile, have only allowed 28.8 shots on net per contest. Ben Bishop has a 2.48 GAA and a .915 save percentage, and with only four goalies in action, the choices are limited.
CENTER
Brayden Schenn, STL at CGY ($13,900): Schenn has started 62.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, third most of any Blues player. The two guys ahead of him are his linemates, so clearly St. Louis is putting its top line in favorable positions. It's helped, as Schenn has 20 points in 18 games with nine in his last four. He also has five power-play points, and the Flames rank 27th on the penalty kill.
Paul Stastny, STL at CGY ($11,500): We're doubling up on Blues centers here. After all, there are only four teams playing, and St. Louis has been great defensively so it's hard to recommend any Flames. Calgary has a team GAA of 2.88, even though Mike Smith has a .924 save percentage. His career mark is .913, so that number will likely drop.
WING
Jaden Schwartz, STL at CGY ($14,500): Schenn has started 64.6 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second most on the Blues. He's playing a career high in minutes (19:59) and on the power play (3:39). As a result, he's tallied 22 points in 18 games.
Alexander Radulov, DAL at CAR ($13,800): Radulov is currently enjoying a seven-game point streak with 10 points overall in that time. He also has seven power-play points, averaging 2:58 with the extra man. Carolina has a team GAA of 2.73 and a .906 save percentage.
Jeff Skinner, CAR vs. DAL ($13,300): Even though the Stars have been stout at preventing shots, Skinner is so good he's still worth putting in your lineup. He's started a whopping 72.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, putting 55 shots on net through 15 games. Skinner has notched at least 235 shots on goal in his last four campaigns, so he's a proven commodity in this regard.
DEFENSEMEN
John Klingberg, DAL at CAR ($13,300): Klingberg has seven points in his last three contests, and overall he has 18 points through 16 games. He's tallied eight points with the extra man and has never had fewer than 12 power-play points in a season. Klingberg also has 29 blocked shots, so he can help out a bit on the defensive end.
Colton Parayko, STL at CGY ($8,700): While teammate Joel Edmundson has had a ton of puck luck, Parayko hasn't been so fortunate. He has one goal on 47 shots, giving him a 2.1 shooting percentage. The Flames have allowed 33.4 shots on net per game, so Parayko could get a few more pucks on goal in this one. If Smith can't keep playing out of his mind, perhaps this will be the night where Parayko finally finds twine.
