Top NHL Picks Tonight: Best Bets, Odds & NHL Betting Insights

St. Louis Blues at Philadelphia Flyers

The Blues (6-9-5) and Flyers (9-6-3) meet at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night at ESPN+ at 7 p.m. ET.

St. Louis suffered a 3-2 overtime loss in Toronto to kick off a five-game road trip as the Under (6) cashed. The Under definitely wasn't the case when these teams played last Friday, with the Flyers posting a 6-5 victory in a shootout at Enterprise Center.

The Flyers (+120) got the job done as slight underdogs as the Over (5.5) easily cashed. Christian Dvorak and Trevor Zegras scored two goals with an assist each, while Owen Tippett was good for a goal and three assists with a plus-4 rating. That was just enough support for Samuel Ersson, who allowed five goals on 17 shots. Jordan Binnington allowed five goals on 31 shots for the Blues.

The Flyers are 3-1-2 in the past six games, while going 5-1 in the span on the puck line as an underdog. Philadelphia has played in eight one-goal games across the past 12 outings.

The Blues suffered a 3-2 OTL in Toronto as the Under (6) cashed, and they're 0-1-2 in the past three games, and 3-7-5 in the past 15 outings. The Under is 3-1 in the past four games, too, with St. Louis scoring three or fewer goals in 11 of the past 12 games, too, with, oddly enough, the only offensive explosion coming against the Flyers in that 6-5 SOL.

Let's roll with the Flyers again, and despite the lack of offense for the Blues lately, let's go Over, as Philly has allowed five goals in each of the past two games.

  • Flyers ML (-125 at Bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks)
  • Over 5.5 Goals (-108 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Ottawa Senators at Anaheim Ducks

The Senators (9-6-4) and Ducks (13-6-1) meet at Honda Center at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Anaheim has won three of the past four meetings in this series, while going 7-3 in the past 10 dating back to Feb. 4, 2020. The Ducks have won four of the past five meetings at home, too. The Under is 3-1-1 in the past five in the series, while the total has gone low at a 6-2-2 clip in that same 10-game span.

The Senators are still without Brady Tkachuk (thumb), while Thomas Chabot (upper body) and Lars Eller (undisclosed) are also sidelined. Ottawa suffered a 1-0 loss against the LA Kings last time out, the sixth one-goal game in the past eight outings. The Sens are 4-1-3 in the eight-game span, while the Under has cashed in four of the past six contests.

The Ducks posted a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, and now they have the quick turnaround playing on no rest. After Lukas Dostal posted a win against the B's, Petr Mrazek (3-1-0, 3.70 GAA, .886 save percentage) is projected to start opposite Linus Ullmark (6-5-4, 3.08 GAA, .874 save percentage).

Anaheim posted a 4-1 win against the Winnipeg Jets on Nov. 9 with no rest as the Under cashed in its only previous game in the second end of a back-to-back.

The Ducks are worth a look as slight underdogs at home, and we'll lean to the Under.

  • Ducks ML (+110 at Caesars and DraftKings Sportsbooks)
  • Under 6.5 Goals (-120 at BetRivers Sportsbooks)

Dallas Stars at Vancouver Canucks

The Stars (12-5-3) and Canucks (9-10-2) meet at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a puck drop of 10 p.m. ET.

Vancouver picked up a 5-3 victory as moderate underdogs (+140) in Dallas, as the Over (6) cashed. The Stars opened with a 2-0 lead after the first period, as Mavrik Bourque and Mikko Rantanen (PPG) gave the home side the lead, but the second period belonged to the Canucks, with Filip Chytil, Brock Boeser (PPG), Max Sasson and Conor Garland scored four unanswered goals before the Stars struck for a late PPG from Wyatt Johnston in the third period.

Thatcher Demko turned aside 28 of the 31 shots he faced, topping former Vancouver backup Casey DeSmith. We should get a completely different goaltender matchup here, as Jake Oettinger (7-4-2, 2.91 GAA, .894 save percentage, 1 SO) and Kevin Lankinen (4-5-2, 3.43 GAA, .890 save percentage) are expected to be in the crease this time around. Let's back the Stars to get revenge with Otter on the blue ice.

As far as the total is concerned, the Over is on a 10-game run for the Canucks, while going 12-1 in the past 13 outings, while Dallas has hit high in six of the past nine outings.

  • Stars ML (-140 at Bet365 and Caesars Sportsbooks)
  • Over 6 Goals (-122 at BetRivers Sportsbooks)
