Doing well after concussion
Smith (concussion) is in a 12-day protocol after suffering a concussion in Sunday's 4-0 loss to Aston Villa, but is in a good spot, according to manager Andoni Iraola, per Alexander Smith of the Bournemouth Echo. "Now he looks okay, he's fine, and he remembers everything. But in the moment, I think it was a very hard knock. And the doctor straight away, it was bleeding a lot. But it was not about the blood, it was about the concussion, and it was obviously the decision to make to sub him. And I hope, because now that I've seen him, I've been talking to him, I think it's going to be just this, but we'll have to wait."
ANALYSIS
Smith had to leave the field Sunday after knocking heads with teammate Tyler Adams, appearing to suffer a concussion in the process. However, the good news is the defender appears to be in a good spot, entering protocol but likely not missing any more time. He will plan to return when the club resumes play, hopefully not missing further time after injuries have limited him to begin the season.

Could be available against Fulham
Smith (hamstring) could be available against Fulham although a return after the next international break is more likely, coach Andoni Iraola said in the press conference, according to Sky Sports. "I wouldn't expect him before the international break. I think it's going to be very difficult. I don't want to rule him out completely, because sometimes, maybe he does a very good recovery, and he can be available against Fulham."
