Danny Welbeck
35-Year-Old
Brighton & Hove Albion
Premier
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Welbeck showed no signs of slowing. From 30 appearances (24 starts), he scored 10 (a team-best) and created four assists, a big improvement over the five goals he netted in 2023/24. Despite such a strong campaign it's likely his role dwindles as only injuries saw him take on such a large workload. He's not getting any younger and at the very least Brighton will want to spread out the striking workload. Welbeck is likely to hang out anywhere from 1,200-1,800 minutes and a handful of goals, it would be a surprise if he pushes for double-digits once more.
Ready for starting time
Welbeck is ready for starting minutes after returning from injury, according to manager Fabian Hurzeler. "We hope so. We have to see today (Monday), but I think he will be an option to start."
ANALYSIS
Welbeck appeared off the bench for 15 minutes in his return Saturday, recovering from a back injury. However, he is now ready for starting time again after the short cameo, a spot he has held in 11 of his 17 appearances this campaign. With Kaoru Mitoma still recovering from injuries and yet to start since the first few weeks of the season, this is a major addition back for the club.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Old Trafford return denied
Manchester United wanted to sign Welbeck, but the board denied the move before the end of the transfer window, according to The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
It was none other than co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe who denied the move for the 35-year-old former England forward. Rasmus Hojlund left Old Trafford to join Napoli, meaning that Manchester United only have Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee as striker options for the first half of the 2025/26 season. Welbeck, in the meantime, will continue alternative upfront for Brighton.
