FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards

D'Angelo Russell, BRK at MIA ($7,400): Russell is flying under the radar because he dealt with injuries early on, but he's been superb when healthy. Not only is he averaging 29 fantasy points per game for the season, but Russell has at least 32 fantasy points in five of his last six games. Where it really shows is in his usage, as he's approaching a usage rate of 30 percent in his last 19 games while leading the team in scoring, shots taken and assists. All that becomes even more valuable when you consider that Russell is designated as a shooting guard, as we get to use a point guard at a much shallower position.

Trey Burke, NYK vs. DET ($6,000): Burke recently captured the starting point guard role in New York and it's done wonders for his fantasy production. Burke has at least 24 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games while averaging 39.5 fantasy points per game across his last four outings. In this newly expanded role, Burke leads the team in shots taken and usage, which are the two biggest indicators of fantasy production. Not to mention, Detroit allows the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards for the season.

Reggie Jackson, DET at NYK ($5,300): Jackson recently returned from a serious ankle injury and the fact that he played at least 27 minutes in back-to-back games indicates he's nearly ready for a full workload. In past seasons, Jackson has been a $7,000 player as the starting point guard and we get quite the bargain here at $5,300 because of his most recent injury. Jackson is averaging over 26 fantasy points in his two most recent games. The icing on the cake is the matchup, though, with the Knicks ranking in the bottom-12 in nearly every defensive metric.

Forwards

Draymond Green, GS at SAC ($8,600): Green has taken on a bigger role with all of the injuries in Golden State and he should continue to produce even with Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson expected back Saturday. Green runs much of the offense when Stephen Curry is out and is posting a usage rate north of 25 percent when Curry is sidelined. Green's fantasy numbers have been elite, as he has at least 30 fantasy points in 12 of his last 13 games, while surpassing 50 fantasy points in three of his last six games. Green is also averaging 39 fantasy points per game in his three meetings with the Kings this season.

Josh Richardson, MIA vs. BRK ($6,600): Richardson has quietly been a great fantasy source all season long, as he should succeed in a superb matchup like this. Richardson faces a Brooklyn defense that ranks 28th in points allowed and 25th in defensive efficiency. Richardson has been fantastic recently, too, scoring at least 34 fantasy points in four of his last six games. Ironically, Richardson scored 34 fantasy points the last time he faced the Nets team on January 19, as well.

Centers

Andre Drummond, DET at NYK ($9,900): With only five games on this slate, using Drummond at a position where you can only use one player is the safest way to approach this slate. The reason for that is the upside he presents, as you simply can't miss out on the one guy who's capable of dropping 60 fantasy points at a position with only one slot. That's far from a stretch for Drummond, as he has a 59.6-fantasy-point game and a 69-fantasy-point gem just in his last three games. That sort of upside from a player below $10,000 is hard to find, and he could abuse the Knicks' undersized frontcourt.

Marcin Gortat, WSH vs. CHA ($4,600): The fact that Gortat is averaging 23 fantasy points per game for the year at this price already makes him a good value, but he happens to be in one of the best stretches of his season, as well. In fact, Gortat has at least 22 fantasy points in five of his last six games while averaging 25 fantasy points per game in that span. That's a 5X floor, as he's really the only center below $6,000 who is usable in such a limited slate.
