There are eight games on the FanDuel main schedule for Sunday, starting at 6:00 PM ET. There are several big name players on the injured list Sunday, in addition to the long-term guys like Kawhi Leonard and Chris Paul. John Wall is battling a shoulder issue, Kristaps Porzingis is questionable with an ankle injury, Elfrid Payton has been upgraded to a game-time decision with his hamstring problem, and T.J. Warren is questionable after taking a shot to the head on Friday. The status of these players is worth watching, as their potential absence(s) would open up more possible value plays.
Guard (premium)
Damian Lillard, POR vs OKC ($10,000): Lillard doesn't back down from anyone, which is why his matchup with Russell Westbrook tends to be full of fireworks. Lillard enters this game hot, having scored 25 or more points in five straight games and just hit the game-winner at the buzzer in his last outing.
Guard (moderate)
Tim Hardaway Jr., NY vs IND ($5,800): Hardaway has awakened in the last week, averaging almost 23 points with 4.5 boards, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals in his last four games. At his price point, he's an everyday play while producing at this level.
Guard (affordable)
Donovan Mitchell, UTA at HOU ($5,500): Mitchell is yet another rookie that is playing strong basketball right now. He has scored at least 22 points in three of his last four games, and in his last two is averaging 26.5 points, 4.5 boards and 2.0 combined blocks/steals.
Forward (premium)
Kristaps Porzingis, NY vs IND ($9,700): Porzingis is a game-time decision on Sunday, but is expected to play even with his sore ankle. The injury gives a bit of pause, but if he plays he continues a run of scoring more than 52 fantasy points in four of his last five games going into Sunday's matchup with the Pacers.
Forward (moderate)
Paul George, OKC at POR ($7,700): George has scored at least 20 points in four straight games, and will be part of what shapes up to be a shootout in Portland on Sunday night. Any of the main skill players in this matchup are liable to put big numbers on the board Sunday.
Forward (affordable)
Joe Ingles, UTA at HOU ($5,500): This pick comes down to boring vs risk/rewards. The risk/reward plays are TJ Warren (questionable, head) and the Lakers frontline of Brandon Ingram ($6,200), Kyle Kuzma ($5,600) and Julius Randle ($5,100), all of whom have 40 fantasy point upside, but have either injury or matchup questions. Ingles is boring…he scores between 25 and 35 fantasy points every game, period. But, that's not a bad level of consistency to have.
Center (premium)
Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN vs CHA ($9,800): Towns has demolished every frontline that he's faced in the last week outside of the Anthony Davis/DeMarcus Cousins combo that put him into foul trouble. In his other three games, he has averaged 27.0 points, 14.3 boards and 2.7 blocks per game, numbers that are well within his expected value on Sunday against the Hornets.
Center (moderate)
Dwight Howard, CHA at MIN ($7,600): While Karl-Anthony Towns is a monster on offense, he's also friendly on defense. As such, Howard should be able to produce his usual dominant rebounding and solid scoring numbers.
Center (affordable)
Marcin Gortat, WAS at TOR ($5,700): Gortat is a solid double-double threat on most nights, and since the Raptors also have big centers, Gortat should be able to get his full minutes without getting small-balled out of the game. Also, if John Wall (Q, shoulder) is unable to play, that would leave more opportunity out there that Gortat could help fill.
