Mavs Hang On For Third Straight Win
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the host Denver Nuggets, 116-115, at Ball Arena on Tuesday evening.

The Mavs jumped out to a strong start with a 36-29 lead after one quarter. Both sides kept up the pace in the second, while the Nuggets trimmed one point off the deficit to make it a six-point game at halftime. The Mavs kept the upper hand through most of the third, as the hosts cut it to a five-point game heading into the final frame. The Mavs rallied to a 10-point lead with four minutes left in the final quarter, but the Nuggets were relentless in the final minutes. The game went down to the wire, but the visitors came up clutch at the foul line to secure their third straight win. This marks the third straight loss for the Nuggets.

Tim Hardaway led the Mavericks with 29 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals, in 31 minutes. Luka Doncic followed up with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists and a block, while Dorian Finney-Smith totaled 19 points, three assists and three steals. The Mavericks shot 50 percent from the field, including 17-of-36 from long range.

Meanwhile, Aaron Gordon led the Nuggets with 27 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal, in 32 minutes. Bones Hyland followed up with 20 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block, while Nikola Jokic tallied 19 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and a steal. The Nuggets shot 51 percent from the field, including 13-of-32 from deep.

The Nuggets (14-10) will look to bounce back as they take on the Trail Blazers in Portland on Thursday. The Mavericks (13-11) play host to the Bucks on Friday.
