Best NBA Bets Today
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls: Josh Giddey over 39.5 points + rebounds + assists, -110 @ FanDuel
Giddey posted an impressive line in his most recent performance, notching 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds in a 129-126 win over the Hornets. The versatile guard, one of the best players in the NBA at filling out the stat sheet, has recorded at least 35 points + rebounds + assists in five of his last seven outings. The matchup against the Pelicans could be favorable on paper, as Giddey will probably be paired with Jeremiah Fears, a rookie who's not known for his defensive prowess. Giddey is averaging 20.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game over his last 10 games, and while he hasn't reached the 40 P+R+A often lately, the favorable matchup boosts his chances of doing so.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns: LeBron James over 26.5 points + rebounds, -115 @ DraftKings
It's odd to say James has been relegated to the role of being the third-best scoring option for the Lakers, but that has been the case this season behind Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Still, with Reaves sidelined for at least a week due to a calf problem, don't be surprised if James sees an uptick in his usage rate. He posted an impressive performance in the loss to the Spurs on Dec. 10, tallying 19 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists across 36 minutes. Strictly looking at the lines of P+R, James has notched at least 34 points + rebounds in his last two games. He's achieved this mark in three of his previous six games in general, but the expected uptick in usage rate should tip the scales toward James reaching this line again.
Golden State Warriors vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Deni Avdija over 25.5 points, -110 @ BetMGM
The Trail Blazers might be underdogs on paper ahead of this matchup against the Warriors, but one player who should be in line for a productive outing in Portland is Avdija. The sixth-year veteran has been enjoying more on-the-ball responsibilities of late, but he's been thriving as the one who often initiates the offense for Portland. Avdija has failed to reach the 20-point mark in his last two games, but he had scored at least 25 in the previous two. Given that he went 12-for-29 from the floor in those two last outings, it seems Avdija is due for a bounce-back performance. He's averaging 24.7 points per game over his previous 10 games, so there's good value in him reaching this proposed line.
