The CFP quarterfinals are upon us, and I'll be running down my favorite DraftKings selections for the three-game slate. A great thing about CFP slates is the lack of opt-outs and transfers, and we can analyze these teams with full potency in mind. It's also an opportunity to take one last crack at using the season's most dynamic players, and there's no shortage of that in this player pool. It's tough to find deficiencies to exploit for these teams, so some tough choices loom ahead for us.
College Football DFS Slate Overview for New Year's Day
We have one concerning weather issue, and it concerns the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The city is preparing for a deluge during the Rose Bowl parade, and some lingering showers may still be around by game time. The Rose Bowl's playing surface has always been hit-or-miss, so wet anf muddy turf may play an issue.

DraftKings New Year's Day College Football DFS Picks
Quarterback
Fernando Mendoza, 
Indiana ($8,500) vs. Alabama
I think Mendoza could end the day with the highest quarterback total, as I predict Alabama's defense will slip up more often than the other units on the slate. The Hoosiers will want to get vertical early, and Mendioa has no shortage of quality targets to choose from.
Gunner Stockton, 
Georgia ($8,100) vs. Ole Miss
We've already seen these two teams tangle back in October, and Stockton had a better overall number over Trinidad Chambliss. Stockton tossed four touchdown passes in the 43-35 win, and I think he has all the tools to be effective again. Game management is a hallmark of Stockton's skill set, but he was more electric than Chambliss in October, and although Georgia's defense allowed 35 points, they did enough to win. All signs point towards another high total, which is another reason to favor Stockton.
Running Back
Cameron Dickey, 
Texas Tech ($6,800) vs. Oregon
The Orange Bowl is probably the most intriguing matchup on the slate, and one of the critical pieces is the projected effectiveness of Dickey and the Raiders against a tough Oregon defense. When we look at elite running backs against Oregon, guys like Kaytron Allen, Roman Hemby, Kamari Moulton and Adam Mohammed have had some success, and I would rate Tech's offensive line and Dickey's talent on par with any of those squads. I think Dickey has a slight edge over J'Koby Williams ($5,800), but you could justify the pivot if the quarterback salaries get you in trouble.
Nate Frazier, Georgia ($5,500) vs. Ole Miss
Frazier had a decent game against Ole Miss back in October. And the back received more snaps and increased production as the season progressed. He's consistently offset an average running total with the occasional touchdown, and I am confident in a repeat performance from Frazier in this matchup.
Also consider: Kaelon Black, Indiana ($5,100) vs. Alabama
Wide Receiver
Elijah Sarratt, Indiana ($6,400) vs. Alabama
I want to build stack potential for my lineup, so I'll take Sarrat to go with Mendoza. Omar Cooper will be available, but I am unsure how effective he'll be returning from injury. His appearance dilutes others on the depth chart who are far behind Sarratt, which is one more reason why the selection makes sense.
Zachariah Branch, Georgia ($5,000) vs Ole Miss
I'll continue my Stockton love and take Branch without hesitation. Branch is one of the most electric receivers in the country, and he can burn you quickly if he gets open in a punt e kickoff return. He didn't score a TD against Ole Miss in October, but he caught eight passes for 71, which works just fine in DraftKings' one-point PPR scoring format.
De'Zhaun Stribling, 
Ole Miss ($4,800) v. Georgia
Chambliss has shown a clear preference for Stribling when it counts, and we've already seen Stribling get behind Georgai's secondary. He had three catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, with a 75-yard TD pass accounting for much of that production. He's a good candidate to be a bright spot for the Rebels.
