Week 7 brings an exciting matchup to kickoff a loaded Saturday of college football. The #8 Crimson Tide head to Columbia, Missouri, to face off with the #14 Missouri Tigers. Missouri comes into this one 5-0 coming off a bye week after last beating UMass. With just two wins of note over South Carolina and Kansas, the Tigers are fresh and hungry, ready to prove to the country they belong in the talks for top of the SEC and the nation.

Alabama comes into COMO 4-1, coming off back-to-back big wins over Vanderbilt and Georgia. The Tide will face a big test, one in which they failed repeatedly a year ago. After two big wins, there is lots of national hype around the Tide. Alabama now has to go on the road and get a win against an SEC opponent, something they failed to do three out of four times last season.

Alabama vs Missouri Betting Picks for Week 7

Missouri is off to a very hot start to the season, ranking at the top of the SEC in several statistics. The Tigers' offense comes in ranked first in the SEC in total yards per game with 547.6 and first in the SEC in rushing yards per game with 292. However, the Tigers rank just ninth in passing yards per game with 255.6. The offense is clearly led by a fierce ground attack, which is headlined by the nation's second-leading rusher in Ahmad Hardy. Through five games, Hardy has racked up 730 yards on 103 carries and nine touchdowns. Behind him is another fierce back in Jamal Roberts, who is also averaging over 7 yards per carry. Under center for Missouri is first-year starter Beau Pribula. The Penn State transfer is off to a great start to the season, completing 75.9 percent of his passes for 1,203 yards with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.

On the other side of the ball the Tigers have also been a force. Missouri ranks second in the SEC in total defense, allowing just 203.8 total yards per game. The Tigers also sit at first in run defense, allowing just 62.4 yards per game and third in passing defense, allowing just 141.4 yards per game. The Missouri defense is led by a pair of ferocious edge rushers in Damon Wilson and Zion Young who have combined for a total of 5.5 sacks.

After a rough start in the opening week, the Crimson Tide have seemingly turned their season around to this point. With Ty Simpson at the helm of the offense, the Crimson Tide have boosted themselves to second in the SEC in passing yards per game with 325.4. Simpson has looked as good as any quarterback in the nation in recent weeks as he has completed 70.9 percent of his passes for 1,478 yards and 13 touchdowns with just one interception.

The Alabama rushing game, however, got off to a slow start on the year as they sit just 14th in the SEC in total rushing yards per game with 126.8. However, with the return of senior running back Jam Miller, the rushing attack made a resurgence a week ago. The Crimson Tide had their second-highest rushing total of the season (behind 212 against UL-Monroe) with 146 yards as Miller racked up 136 yards on the ground and the offensive line dominated in the trenches.

The Alabama defense has also looked incredibly stout since the first game of the season. On the year, the Crimson Tide ranks fourth in the SEC in total defense, allowing 285.8 yards per game, and second in passing defense allowing 130.4 yards per game. The run defense has been a bit of a disappointment on the season as they currently rank 13th in the SEC allowing 155.4 yards per game. Last week however, the defense seemed to make some improvement against the SEC's third best rushing attack. After Vanderbilt opened up the game with four rushes for 108 yards in the first quarter, the defense made some adjustments and allowed just 27 yards on 15 carries the rest of the way.

Alabama vs Missouri Expert Pick: Alabama -3 (Caesars Sportsbook)

Alabama vs Missouri Predictions for Week 7

This game poses another interesting matchup of strength versus weakness for both teams. The Missouri rushing attack has overwhelmingly been their biggest strength and one of the best in the nation; meanwhile, Alabama has had quite the struggle in containing the running game. On the other side of the ball the Alabama passing attack has been astounding and the wide receiver group is loaded with weapons, as Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, and Isaiah Horton have been as good as any trio of wide receivers in the country. The Missouri passing defense has struggled at times but what could help them here is their pair of edge rushers.

I would expect Alabama to load the box and key on the running game in this one. While Pribula has been off to a great start to the season, the Alabama secondary has been one of the biggest strengths of the defense and will likely match up well against a lackluster pass-catching group for Missouri. On the other side Missouri will need huge games from Wilson and Young in this one as a weak secondary likely won't be able to hold up against the Alabama receiving group. Missouri definitely has a recipe to pull off the upset in this one, but I think the Tide flip the narrative from a year ago and are ready to go on the road this week.

Alabama 31, Missouri 24
