London Game: Broncos vs. Jets

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the fantasy football rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Should I start Patrick Mahomes or Bryce Young?"

These are my particular rankings. If you want a second opinion elsewhere on the site, you can see our Weekly Projections.

Each week after Week 1, the first set of rankings will be posted late on Tuesday night. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning.

Quarterbacks

1.Josh Allen BUF at ATL
2.Patrick Mahomes KC vs. DET
3.*Jalen Hurts PHI at NYG
Note: Hurts and the Eagles can't seem to put together consecutive good halves.
4.Matthew Stafford LA at BAL
5.Jordan Love GB vs. CIN
6.Dak Prescott DAL at CAR
7.Baker Mayfield TB vs. SF
8.Jayden Daniels WAS vs. CHI
9.Caleb Williams CHI at WAS

11.Daniel Jones IND vs. ARI
12.Jared Goff DET at KC
13.Drake Maye NE at NO
14.Sam Darnold SEA at JAX
15.Bryce Young CAR vs. DAL
16.*Mac Jones SF at TB
Note: Even the zombie-like version of Mac Jones was productive in a Kyle Shanahan offense. It makes you wonder just really how bad Trey Lance was to not be able to gain any traction with the Niners. Jones took part in a light practice Thursday, and looks like he'll start, as Brock Purdy did not practice at all. ***Jones is listed as questionable with oblique and knee issues, but Brock Purdy is out, and Jones is expected to start.***
17.*Justin Fields NYJ vs. DEN
Note: Fields got there in garbage time for us in back-to-back weeks.
18.*Justin Herbert LAC at MIA
Note: Herbert's 60 rush yards mitigated an otherwise disastrous game against the Commanders.
19.*Trevor Lawrence JAC vs. SEA
Note: Lawrence demonstrated both his upside and downside in the win over the Chiefs on Monday night, with his scrambling ability winning out in the end.
20.Geno Smith LV vs. TEN
21.*Jaxson Dart NYG vs. PHI
Note: Dart (hamstring) was a full participant on Tuesday after being limited on Monday. He should be able to go on Thursday night.
22.Michael Penix ATL vs. BUF
23.*Tua Tagovailoa MIA vs. LAC
Note: Tagovailoa (hip/thumb) was limited at practice Wednesday.
24.Cam Ward TEN at LV
25.Aaron Rodgers PIT vs. CLE
26.Spencer Rattler NO vs. NE
27.*Joe Flacco CIN at GB
Note: The Bengals traded for Flacco on Tuesday and plan to install him as the starter, beginning with Wednesday's practice. Flacco was officially named the starter for the Bengals.
28.*Jacoby Brissett ARZ at IND
Note: Teammate Kyler Murray has missed the first two practices of the week with a foot injury. *** Murray is unlikely to play, and might miss multiple weeks.***
29.Dillon Gabriel CLE at PIT
30.*Cooper Rush BAL vs. LAR
Note: ***Rush will get another start this week, with Tyler Huntley backing him up.***
31.*Kyler Murray ARZ at IND
Note: Murray briefly left last week's loss to the Titans with a foot injury, and coach Jonathan Gannon is taking a wait-and-see approach with Murray this week as a result. Jacoby Brissett is the backup for the Cardinals. Murray has missed practices both Wednesday and Thursday this week. ***Murray is unlikely to play this week, and he might have a multi-week absence, as he's dealing with a 'version of a Lisfranc injury.***
32.*Jake Browning CIN at GB
Note: Browning will revert to backup status now that the Bengals have traded for Joe Flacco. Flacco was officially named the starter over Browning for this week.
33.*Lamar Jackson BAL vs. LAR
Note: Jackson (hamstring) hasn't practiced yet this week and is likely to miss another game. ***Jackson has officially been ruled out.***
34.*Brock Purdy SF at TB
Note: Purdy (toe) is week-to-week and not certain to return this week after missing Thursday's game. Purdy hasn't yet practiced this week. ***Declared out again this week, but has a chance to return in Week 7.***
35.C.J. Stroud HOU at
36.J.J. McCarthy MIN at
37.Carson Wentz MIN at

Running Backs

1.Christian McCaffrey SF at TB
2.Bijan Robinson ATL vs. BUF
3.*Saquon Barkley PHI at NYG
Note: Barkley (knee) only had six carries last week, and his absence was noted by Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on a first-half series, though he later re-entered the game. He sat out Monday's walk-through, but put in a limited practice Tuesday. Fully practiced Wednesday.
4.Jonathan Taylor IND vs. ARI
5.Jahmyr Gibbs DET at KC
6.Josh Jacobs GB vs. CIN
7.James Cook BUF at ATL
8.*Quinshon Judkins CLE at PIT
Note: Judkins had a great day against the Vikings, but also had a long touchdown wiped off the board due to a penalty.
9.Kyren Williams LA at BAL
10.Ashton Jeanty LV vs. TEN
11.Javonte Williams DAL at CAR
12.De'Von Achane MIA vs. LAC
13.Kenneth Walker SEA at JAX
14.J.K. Dobbins DEN at NYJ
15.Travis Etienne JAC vs. SEA
16.*Jacory Croskey-Merritt WAS vs. CHI
Note: Croskey-Merritt finally saw snaps on the first two drives and cashed in on the opportunity - is the genie out of the bottle now, can we bank on this usage?
17.*Rico Dowdle CAR vs. DAL
Note: After Dowdle's monster game against Miami, will we see a difference in the usage patterns whenever Chuba Hubbard (calf) is fully healthy? Hubbard has missed the first two practices so far this week, so it looks like Dowdle could get another start in a choice matchup.
18.*Derrick Henry BAL vs. LAR
Note: Henry's struggles continued in the loss to the Texans, with him netting only 33 yards on 15 carries.
19.Breece Hall NYJ vs. DEN
20.Tony Pollard TEN at LV
21.*Cam Skattebo NYG vs. PHI
Note: Tyrone Tracy will be back, but I'm not super concerned about him cutting into Skattebo's playing time. I think it'll be taking away Devin Singletary's reps.
22.*Rachaad White TB vs. SF
Note: ***Bucky Irving ruled out again this week.***
23.D'Andre Swift CHI at WAS
24.*Rhamondre Stevenson NE at NO
Note: Teammate Antonio Gibson suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
25.*Alvin Kamara NO vs. NE
Note: Kamara has been limited in practice the first two days of the week - initially it was reported he was hurt in Wednesday's practice, but later he clarified that he got hurt against the Giants on Sunday. ***Kamara was limited all week in practice and is listed as questionable, though is expected to play. Meanwhile, his name has come up in trade talks, but it appears he doesn't want to go anywhere.***
26.David Montgomery DET at KC
27.*Jaylen Warren PIT vs. CLE
Note: Warren (knee) participated in individual drills Monday during the Steelers' first activities since the bye week. Warren fully practiced Wednesday.
28.*Hassan Haskins LAC at MIA
Note: Haskins and Kimani Vidal will take over the Chargers' running back duties with both Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris out. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that both Haskins and Vidal will factor in, and neither will be the lead back.
29.*Chase Brown CIN at GB
Note: Brown is starting to lose some snaps to Samaje Perine.
30.Kareem Hunt KC vs. DET
31.*Kendre Miller NO vs. NE
Note: Miller had 10 carries and a season-high 39 percent snap share in the win over the Giants. Miller gets a slight bump up due to Alvin Kamara's ankle injury.
32.*TreVeyon Henderson NE at NO
Note: Teammate Antonio Gibson is out for the season with a torn ACL, but I'm still a little wary of Henderson's workload.
33.*Bam Knight ARZ at IND
Note: ***Reporting from multiple sources on Sunday morning suggests that Knight will start over Michael Carter.***
34.Zach Charbonnet SEA at JAX
35.Tyler Allgeier ATL vs. BUF
36.*Isiah Pacheco KC vs. DET
Note: Pacheco on Monday night looked the best he has since his injury last season, but it was still Kareem Hunt who got the red zone work.
37.*Kenneth Gainwell PIT vs. CLE
Note: Teammate Jaylen Warren's status in returning from a knee injury is undetermined yet. If Warren were to sit out, Gainwell would move into my top 30. Down a couple of notches with Warren fully practicing.
38.*Bhayshul Tuten JAC vs. SEA
Note: Tuten (shoulder) remains limited in practice. ***Tuten was limited in practice all week, but was cleared from the injury.***
39.*Michael Carter ARZ at IND
Note: Carter was the lead back over Emari Demercado for most of the game. ***Carter was consistently the lead back in practice this week. SUNDAY MORNING REPORTING SUGGESTS BAM KNIGHT, RATHER THAN CARTER, IS GETTING THE START.***
40.*Kimani Vidal LAC at MIA
Note: I'm guessing that Hassan Haskins will get a little bit more work than Vidal. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that both Vidal and Hassan Haskins will factor in on Sunday, with neither being a 'lead back.'
41.*Emari Demercado ARZ at IND
Note: Demercado was causing his fantasy owners angst even before his goal line gaffe, by his absence, losing out on the early snaps to Michael Carter.
42.*Ollie Gordon MIA vs. LAC
Note: Gordon's role was diminished against Carolina, which is two weeks in a row where he's been used minimally despite a mini-breakout against Buffalo in Week 3.
43.Blake Corum LA at BAL
44.RJ Harvey DEN at NYJ
45.Emanuel Wilson GB vs. CIN
46.Brian Robinson SF at TB
47.Sean Tucker TB vs. SF

53.Trevor Etienne CAR vs. DAL

57.*Jaydon Blue DAL at CAR
Note: ***Blue's teammate Miles Sanders is out for the season.***
58.Brashard Smith KC vs. DET
59.Samaje Perine CIN at GB
60.Raheem Mostert LV vs. TEN

Note: Worthy (ankle/shoulder) fully practiced Wednesday, but then got a rest day on Thursday. ***Worthy has been cleared from the injury list.***
48.DeVonta Smith PHI at NYG
49.*Alvin Kamara NO vs.
50.*Cam Skattebo NYG vs. PHI
Note: Tyrone Tracy will be back, but I'm not super concerned about him cutting into Skattebo's playing time. I think it'll be taking away Devin Singletary's reps.
51.*Rachaad White TB vs. SF
Note: ***Bucky Irving ruled out again this week.***
52.D'Andre Swift CHI at WAS
53.David Montgomery DET at KC
54.*Rhamondre Stevenson NE at NO
Note: Teammate Antonio Gibson suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
55.Sam LaPorta DET at KC
56.*Dalton Kincaid BUF at ATL
Note: Kincaid (oblique) was limited in Thursday's practice. ***Kincaid was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable.***
57.*Zay Flowers BAL vs. LAR
Note: Flowers (shoulder) has been limited in both Ravens' practices so far this week. ***Flowers had three limited practices, but is expected to play against the Rams.***
58.Keenan Allen LAC at MIA
59.Jakobi Meyers LV vs. TEN
60.Khalil Shakir BUF at ATL
61.DJ Moore CHI at WAS
62.*Keon Coleman BUF at ATL
Note: Coleman was benched for the Bills' first series on Sunday night due to a disciplinary matter.
63.Hollywood Brown KC vs. DET
64.*Michael Carter ARZ at IND
Note: Carter was the lead back over Emari Demercado for most of the game. ***Carter was consistently the lead back in practice this week. SUNDAY MORNING REPORTING SUGGESTS BAM KNIGHT, RATHER THAN CARTER, IS GETTING THE START.***
65.*Hassan Haskins LAC at MIA
Note: Haskins and Kimani Vidal will take over the Chargers' running back duties with both Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris out. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that both Haskins and Vidal will factor in, and neither will be the lead back.
66.*Chase Brown CIN at GB
Note: Brown is starting to lose some snaps to Samaje Perine.
67.Chris Olave NO vs. NE
68.Calvin Ridley TEN at LV
69.*Kendrick Bourne SF at TB
Note: ***Bourne might lose some volume this week with Jauan Jennings back, but I still like him against the Bucs this week, especially with Ricky Pearsall still out.***
70.Tee Higgins CIN at GB
71.*Quentin Johnston LAC at MIA
Note: Johnston had his first big gaffe of the season, losing a fumble to kill a drive in the loss to the Commanders. Johnston (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice. ***Johnston was limited all week and is a game-time decision, with the expectation that he won't be able to go.***
72.Travis Kelce KC vs. DET
73.*Mason Taylor NYJ vs. DEN
Note: Taylor was targeted a whopping 12 times in the loss to the Cowboys.
74.Kareem Hunt KC vs. DET
75.*TreVeyon Henderson NE at NO
Note: Teammate Antonio Gibson is out for the season with a torn ACL, but I'm still a little wary of Henderson's workload.
76.Zach Charbonnet SEA at JAX
77.*Emari Demercado ARZ at IND
Note: Demercado was causing his fantasy owners angst even before his goal line gaffe, by his absence, losing out on the early snaps to Michael Carter.
78.*Chris Godwin TB vs. SF
Note: Godwin (fibula) has missed both practices so far this week. ***Godwin has been ruled out for this week.***
79.Jameson Williams DET at KC
80.Wan'Dale Robinson NYG vs. PHI
81.*Elic Ayomanor TEN at LV
Note: As Calvin Ridley rose, Ayomanor fell on Sunday, netting just two catches for 18 yards on four targets.
82.Josh Downs IND vs. ARI
83.Kayshon Boutte NE at NO
84.*Kendre Miller NO vs. NE
Note: Miller had 10 carries and a season-high 39 percent snap share in the win over the Giants. Miller gets a slight bump up due to Alvin Kamara's ankle injury.
85.*Kenneth Gainwell PIT vs. CLE
Note: Teammate Jaylen Warren's status in returning from a knee injury is undetermined yet. If Warren were to sit out, Gainwell would move into my top 30. Down a couple of notches with Warren fully practicing.

Note: McManus (quadriceps) was limited in Thursday's practice - he expects to play.
9.Wil Lutz DEN at NYJ
10.*Harrison Butker KC vs. DET
Note: Even without a field goal attempt, Butker had a bad night on Monday, kicking the ball out of bounds on the Chiefs' final kickoff of the night, giving the Jaguars the ball on their own 40 to start what would be a game-winning drive.
11.Matt Gay WAS vs. CHI
12.Matt Prater BUF at ATL
13.*Jason Myers SEA at JAX
Note: Myers had another miss in the loss to the Bucs, this time from 44 yards. He has three field goals missed so far this season.
14.Tyler Loop BAL vs. LAR

24.*Michael Badgley IND vs. ARI
Note: Badgley replaces Spencer Shrader (knee) on the Colts' roster.
25.*Joey Slye TEN at LV
Note: Slye nearly sunk the Titans' comeback attempt by missing an extra point, but then later hit a short game-winning field goal. Slye (calf) has missed the first two practices of the week. Matthew Wright is on the Titans' practice squad as the backup.

32.Ka'imi Fairbairn HOU at
33.Will Reichard MIN at

Defenses

1.Green Bay Packers vs. CIN
2.*Pittsburgh Steelers vs. CLE
Note: It's worth checking to see if someone might have cut the Steelers during the bye week. They draw the Browns and Bengals the next two weeks.

Note: The Pats' defense played well against Buffalo, and now gets the Saints, Titans and Browns the next three weeks.
4.Philadelphia Eagles at NYG
5.Denver Broncos at NYJ
6.*Los Angeles Rams at BAL
Note: It's funny how different this week looks now compared to where it was at the start of the season, against the Ravens.

9.Buffalo Bills at ATL
10.Los Angeles Chargers at MIA
11.Jacksonville Jaguars vs. SEA
