Each week of the season I will look at matchups, usage, pace of play and the injury report to highlight my favorite "higher", and sometimes "lower" picks, on Chalkboard.

Higher
Joe Flacco
vs. NYJ - higher than 1.5 pass TDs
Ja'Marr Chase
vs. NYJ - higher than 0.5 rush + rec TDs
Tee Higgins
vs. NYJ - higher than 52.5 receiving yards or 4.5 receptions
Fresh off a 342-yard, three touchdown performance against the Steelers, Flacco has rejuvenated the Cincinnati Bengals offense. Now he gets an even better matchup against one of the worst teams in football. The winless Jets are also likely to be missing their best cornerback in Sauce Gardner (concussion), meaning Chase and Higgins will be licking their chops.
We just saw Chase explode for 16 catches and 161 yards on a whopping 23 targets while Higgins chipped in with six grabs for 96 yards. Both found the end zone last week, and both should have ample opportunity to do so again on Sunday.
Derrick Henry
vs. CHI - higher than 83.5 rush yards; higher than 0.5 rush TDs
Henry got back on track last week with 124 yards against a stout Rams defense. Now, he gets a much softer matchup and Lamar Jackson back. The Bears rank in the bottom five in yards allowed and yards per carry (YPC) allowed to opposing RBs. They just gave up 240 to the Raiders a couple weeks ago.
Lamar Jackson
vs. CHI - higher than 1.5 pass TDs
Jackson is set to return for the first time since injuring his hamstring in Week 4. The Bears secondary is weak without their best CB in Jaylon Johnson. They've been fortunate to get away with it in recent weeks against the likes of Spencer Rattler, Marcus Mariota and Geno Smith. I'm expecting Lamar and the Ravens offense to make up for some lost time as the try to jumpstart their season.
Rashid Shaheed
vs. TB - higher than 42.5 receiving yards
Chris Olave
vs. TB - higher than 59.5 receiving yards
Spencer Rattler
vs. TB - higher than 210.5 passing yards
A matchup against Tampa Bay means it's usually a much better spot to throw than run, considering the Bucs defense has been a pass funnel for years now. Olave has put up 98 receiving yards in back-to-back games. Shaheed has at least four catches in every game, and he is always liable to break a long one. The Saints will be without RB2 Kendre Miller, and are likely to be playing from behind. It all sets up favorably for Rattler and his WRs.
Cam Ward
at IND - higher than 210.5 passing yards
Elic Ayomanor
at IND - higher than 33.5 receiving yards
Chimere Dike
at IND - higher than 26.5 receiving yards
The Colts' defense has allowed passing yard totals of 391, 360 and 312 in three of the last four games. They're dealing with multiple injuries, including the loss of their best outside corner in Charvarius Ward. Titans WR Calvin Ridley is expected to miss another game, meaning that promising rookie Elic Ayomanor will be Ward's number one option. WR/KR Chimere Dike has taken over in the slot after the release of Tyler Lockett, and he responded with four catches for 70 yards and a touchdown last week. Ward has struggled at times, but I still believe in his talent, especially inside the dome at Lucas Oil Stadium in a game that could feature a quarter's worth of garbage time.
Jaylin Noel
vs. SF - higher than 33.5 receiving yards
With WRs Nico Collins and Christian Kirk expected out, the Texans will need their young WRs to step up. Noel looked good in the slot last week, catching four of seven targets for 77 yards. I prefer the inside matchup against the 49ers, who are without star LB Fred Warner, than the outside matchup against Deommodore Lenoir.
