This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.
The last weekend of October is here. Weather is getting chilly all over the place. Meanwhile, the NHL has a busy Saturday to give us a reason to stay in. While there are 11 games Saturday, only seven of them are at night, which means those are the games you will be using to create your daily fantasy lineup. Given all that, here are my recommendations.
GOALIE
Tuukka Rask, BOS vs. MON ($8,200): Rask has gotten off to a slow start to the season, but he made 38 saves on 39 shots in his last outing. Plus, the Bruins have only allowed 29.8 shots on net this year, after only allowing 29.3 last season, so they should keep the veteran netminder from being too busy. The Canadiens were a horrible road team last season, and they only averaged 2.24 goals per game in away contests. That bodes well for Rask as he tries to turn things around.
CENTER
Jonathan Toews, CHI at STL ($5,800): Toews has cooled down after a scorching start, but the fact remains he has 11 points through 10 contests. It's not like the 30-year-old is some fluke either, as he's notched at least 50 points in every season of his career. The Blues have a 4.00 GAA this year, and last season Jake Allen had a .906 save percentage.
Bo Horvat, VAN vs. PIT ($5,600): Horvat had 22 goals last year despite only playing in 64 games. As for this season, he's already notched seven goals to go with two assists. The Penguins have allowed 36.4 shots on net per game, which should give Horvat plenty of opportunities to add to his impressive goal total.
WING
Patric Hornqvist, PIT at VAN ($6,100): Oddly, moving down to Pittsburgh's third line seems to have lit a fire under him. Over his last two games he's tallied five points and nine shots on net. He has 29 goals on 247 shots last year, so it's not like this sort of thing is unheard of. Vancouver has a 3.18 GAA this year, which is actually right in line with its 3.16 GAA last season, sixth highest in the NHL.
Clayton Keller, ARI vs. TAM ($5,400): Keller gave the Coyotes real offensive punch as a rookie, tallying 23 goals and 65 points. He also played 3:01 per game on the power play, registering 20 points with the extra man. The Lightning, on the other hand, had the 27th-ranked penalty kill last year. On top of that, Tampa is on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.
Anthony Duclair, CLM vs. BUF ($4,600): Duclair is in his first year with the Blue Jackets, and so far it's going well. He's tallied six points through nine games, helped in part by the fact he's averaged 3:08 with the extra man. Perhaps they will keep using him as a power-play specialist. Meanwhile, last year the Sabres had a 3.39 GAA, third highest in the NHL.
DEFENSE
Brent Seabrook, CHI at STL ($5,100): Last year was kind of rough for Seabrook, as he only managed seven goals and 19 assists. However, this season has gone better, as he has six points and 19 shots through 10 games. Allen has an .876 save percentage and Chad Johnson has an .857 save percentage this year, so whoever is in net it shouldn't be tough to solve for Seabrook and the Blackhawks.
Matt Grzelcyk, BOS vs. MON ($4,000): Due to injuries plaguing the Bruins blue line, Grzelcyk is getting quite a bit of power-play time. He's played 3:01 per game with the extra man, notching three power-play points through 10 games. That's encouraging given this matchup, as the Canadiens ranked 30th on the penalty kill last year.
