NHL Picks & Parlay Tips: Expert Predictions & Best Bets for Tonight's Games
Pittsburgh Penguins
at Philadelphia Flyers
The Penguins (7-2-1) and the Flyers (4-3-1) meet at Wells Fargo Center at 6 p.m. ET in the first of three games on ESPN.
Last season, the teams split the four regular-season meetings, and the home team has won five in a row in the series, while going 8-2 across the past 10 meetings dating back to March 11, 2023. The Over is 4-1 in the past five in the series, too.
Pittsburgh doubled up the St. Louis Blues 6-3 on Monday night, and I'm not going to lie, I am pretty pumped up. We hit a monster 5-leg Same-Game Parlay (SGP) in yesterday's column involving the Penguins. The Over is now 3-0 in the past three games for the Pens, while going 6-1-2 in the past nine outings. The six goals scored by the Pens marked a season high, as Bryan Rust (x2), Anthony Mantha, Parker Wotherspoon, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin all chimed in with scores, giving Tristan Jarry all the support he needed.
Arturs Silovs (3-1-1, 2.56 GAA, .914 save percentage, 1 SO) is expected to get the start with the team playing on the second end of a back-to-back. Dan Vladar (3-2-0, 1.81 GAA, .932 save percentage) is expected to start for the home side.
Based on recent series trends, we'll back the home side, and we'll go low on the total.

Washington Capitals
at Dallas Stars
The Capitals (6-3-0) and Stars (5-3-1) meet at American Airlines Center at 8:30 p.m. ET in the middle game of the tripleheader on ESPN.
Washington had managed a 6-1-0 mark in second games from Oct. 11-24, but it was punished 7-1 in the second end of a back-to-back Saturday.
The Stars have won back-to-back 3-2 victories over the Carolina Hurricanes and Nashville Predators, and the latter was a win on no rest with Casey DeSmith starting. After a 0-3-1 skid, Dallas has come alive.
These teams meet just twice per season, and they split in 2024-25, while cashing the Under both times. However, Dallas is 6-1-0 in the past seven in the series, with the Under going 7-2 in the previous nine meetings.
We're expected to get a matchup of Logan Thompson (5-1-0, 1.50 GAA, .937 save percentage) and Jake Oettinger (4-2-1, 2.98 GAA, .899 save percentage), and that means a good chance that Under trend in this series continues. We'll side with the Stars at home, too.

Los Angeles Kings
at San Jose Sharks
The Kings (4-3-3) and Sharks (2-5-2) battle at SAP Center in San Jose in the final game of the day.
Los Angeles will cost you nearly two times potential return, and that's quite expensive with too much risk, and not nearly enough reward.
San Jose has a poor overall record, but this offense is coming alive. It has 3.2 goals per game (GPG), ranking 14th, or middle of the road, while the power play is hitting at 28.1 percent, which ranks 8th in the NHL. Defensively, the Sharks are poor, allowing 4.7 GPG, and that's the rub. The Sharks score plenty, but they give up more.
L.A. has picked up a point in five in a row, going 3-0-2 in the past five outings, while the Under is 3-1 in the past four games. The Kings are good for 32 goals scored in the past nine outings, or 3.6 GPG.
Darcy Kuemper (2-2-2, 2.78 GAA, .887 save percentage) is expected to start for the Kings, while Alex Nedeljkovic (1-2-1, 3.98 GAA, .874 save percentage) is projected for the Sharks.
Last season, these teams split the season series, with the Over going 2-1-1. We're going to roll with the Kings and the Over here, as the Sharks' defense and goaltending cannot be trusted, especially Ned.
