Premier League Player News & Updates
Goalkeeper Waiver Wire Pickups – Fantrax & Sleeper GW23
Matz Sels, Nottingham Forest (36% Fantrax, 38% Sleeper)
Sels posted 14.75 points in a shutout against Arsenal on Saturday and heads on the road in Gameweek 23 to take on a Brentford side that's been in good form prior to their defeat to Chelsea at the weekend. While it's unlikely Sels will keep another clean sheet, he's been a solid source of saves with three in each of his last three starts.
Defender Waiver Wire Picks - Fantrax & Sleeper GW23
James Justin, Leeds United (2% Fantrax, 4% Sleeper)
Justin has started Leeds' last four Premier League matches and posted his highest total Saturday with 18.5 points as Leeds took down Fulham 1-0. The clean sheet did some of the lifting, but his stat line is worth looking at closer after he created two chances and crossed six times while taking five corner kicks. It's a strong attacking output for a defender and while it may not continue, Justin is worth a look this upcoming week away at Everton.
The question is whether he'll continue to start or not with Jayden Bogle back from his injury. Even then, he played behind Bogle for the majority of Saturday's match and still put up big numbers, taking set pieces without Anton Stach available.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, West Ham (41% Fantrax, 48% Sleeper)
Wan-Bissaka returned from AFCON and posted 17.75 points in the 2-1 win over Tottenham despite no goal involvement and no clean sheet. The full-back has impressed in recent appearances, scoring double-digit points in three of his last four starts. West Ham are slowly playing better under Nuno Espirito Santo and a home match against Sunderland is a solid one in Gameweek 23.
Midfielder Waiver Wire Picks - Fantrax & Sleeper GW23
Conor Gallagher, Tottenham (45% Fantrax, 35% Sleeper)
Gallagher has already been added in close to 50 percent of leagues since transferring back to the Premier League with Tottenham. The question is whether he's worth spending a lot of FAAB or a high waiver claim on? Without knowing who else will come in this window, it's hard to say for sure, but Gallagher is worth chasing if still available in your league.
He's never been a prodigious goal or assist provider, but Gallagher is an industrious midfielder who can do enough things to reach double-digit points without a goal involvement. He started immediately at the weekend and scored a solid eight points on the back of two shots and a chance created. Spurs get an excellent matchup against Burnley at the weekend.
Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester United (16% Fantrax, 14% Sleeper)
Mainoo may have been provided a new lease on life with Ruben Amorim's departure as he started and went the full 90 minutes in Michael Carrick's first game in charge for the Red Devils. Mainoo won't offer a ton of attacking upside playing as a defensive midfielder, but he scored nine points during the upset win over Manchester City on Sunday based primarily off of his defensive actions, including three tackles. Mainoo is one to watch if he can carve out a consistent role in the United XI moving forward.
Forward Waiver Wire Picks - Fantrax & Sleeper GW23
Marcus Edwards, Burnley (10% Fantrax, 8% Sleeper)
Edwards is in a good run of form with two goal involvements, including the equalizing goal against Liverpool, in two games to go with four shots and three chances created. Edwards has scored in double figures in three of his last four matches as a locked-in starter for a Burnley side that desperately need a creative spark. Edwards and company take on Tottenham at home this week, which is not a matchup to fear.
Evann Guessand, Aston Villa (4% Fantrax, 7% Sleeper)
Playing time has been hard to come by for Guessand, but he may be in line for a start this week pending the severity of John McGinn's knee injury. Guessand replaced McGinn after 18 minutes Sunday and scored 10 points despite no goal involvement after firing three shots. Guessand's last start resulted in 18 points so he's worth looking at if he makes the starting XI on the road against Newcastle.
