Best WNBA Bets Today: Friday, August 1

Bria Hartley Over 9.5 Points (-118) vs. New York Liberty

FanDuel Sportsbook, 1:20 p.m. CT

Jason Shebilske: Occasionally, there will be a favorable line on a player prop like this that carries poor odds. However, the odds on Hartley's points prop for Friday are favorable given how low the line is. Hartley has scored in double figures in five consecutive appearances, and while she was held to five points during her first appearance against the Liberty in June, she's taken on a much more prominent role with Connecticut over the second half of the season.

Rachel Banham Over 11.5 Points (-120) vs. Golden State Valkyries

DraftKings Sportsbook, 1:25 p.m. CT

Jason Shebilske: While Chicago's season hasn't gone as planned amid a flurry of injuries, Banham has been a bright spot, especially on the scoreboard. Since claiming a regular starting role on June 22, she's scored in double figures in 11 of 14 appearances, including at least 12 points in eight outings. She's been particularly effective over the past week, averaging 19.3 points per game over her last three appearances. The Valkyries have given up the fourth-most points to opposing guards this season, and Banham's points prop has a favorable line and odds.

Janelle Salaun Under 13.5 Points (-135) at Chicago Sky

DraftKings Sportsbook, 1:35 p.m. CT

Jason Shebilske: After successfully including the under on Salaun's points line in Thursday's article, I'll go back to the well in the second half of a back-to-back set. The Sky have allowed the most points to opposing forwards this season and will be playing without Angel Reese on Friday, but Salaun simply hasn't been efficient recently, scoring single-digit points in three consecutive appearances despite averaging 28.3 minutes per game. Thursday's line was set at 12.5 points with the same odds, so I'll gladly take the additional point here on an under bet.

Alyssa Thomas Over 13.5 Points (-125) at Atlanta Dream

DraftKings Sportsbook, 1:30 p.m. CT

Jason Shebilske: Once again, the RotoWire Picks and Props tool has led me to a favorable line on a player prop that I expected to have worse odds. Thomas has hit the over on this line in 11 of her last 15 appearances, including at least 20 points in each of her last three outings. The Dream have a decent frontcourt defense but will be playing without Brittney Griner on Friday, which should allow Thomas to thrive on the scoreboard.

Aliyah Boston Over 12.5 Rebounds + Assists (-136) at Dallas Wings

FanDuel Sportsbook, 1:50 p.m. CT

Jason Shebilske: Although this player prop doesn't have phenomenal odds, Boston's combo has a favorable line given how successful she's been sans Caitlin Clark recently. Boston has posted double-digit rebounds in four consecutive appearances, and she's hit the over on the combo in each of those outings. Her line of over 8.5 rebounds at -114 on FanDuel is also appealing, but I'll roll with her combo against a Dallas team that has allowed the third-most rebounds and second-most assists to opposing centers this season.

Kelsey Plum Over 17.5 Points (-125) at Seattle Storm

FanDuel Sportsbook, 1:40 p.m. CT

Jason Shebilske: The fact that this is yet another points prop may be a bit on the boring side, but it emphasizes just how many favorable player props there are in the category for Friday. Plum was absent for the Sparks' first matchup against Seattle this season, but the Storm don't have a particularly dominant backcourt defense. Plum has lit up the scoreboard recently with at least 20 points in three consecutive appearances, as well as five of her last six outings. The Happy Gilmore 2 star has shot 49.4 percent from the floor during that time, which is up from her season-long 40.7 percent field-goal efficiency, but the Storm have allowed the fifth-highest field-goal percentage to opposing guards this season, so Plum should have an opportunity to maintain her recent hot streak.
