PITCHER
Mike Pelfrey, DET vs. PHI ($6,000): Stick with me here. There isn't a big slate and it's tough to find any values below $8K. Pelfrey, the second-lowest priced pitcher is far from safe, but he has scored 25 and 19 fantasy points over his last two outings, respectively. This recommendation has nothing to do with Pelfrey's skill set but more about his matchup with the Phillies, who have the second-worst mark against right-handed pitching. Pelfrey is backed by one of the better offenses in the league, which should put him in line for the win as well.
CATCHER
Salvador Perez, KC at MIN ($2,800): The matchup against Ricky Nolasco is good given that he has a 4.74 ERA this season and there's some good BvP numbers for Perez. Sal has gone 6-for-19 against Nolasco with four extra base hits, including a home run. Buster Posey has good numbers against Drew Pomeranz, as well as the favorable split matchup, but Perez is a good pivot, especially in tournaments.
FIRST BASE
Steve Pearce, TB at MIA ($3,600): It's kind of crazy to think that Pearce has a higher price than Albert Pujols or Joey Votto but it's true. Pearce has absolutely feasted on southpaws this season with a crazy .573 wOBA, including four home runs in 37 at-bats. Wei-Yin Chen has struggled more at home than on the road and has given up a .328 wOBA to right-handed batters at Marlins Park.
SECOND BASE
Rougned Odor, TEX vs. LAA ($3,500): This is a bit pricey but on a night with a short slate he's only the seventh-highest priced player at the position. Odor has been Jose Altuve-lite this season with seven home runs and five stolen bases. He has a .350 wOBA at home against right-handed pitching and Nick Tropeano's 1.58 WHIP suggests his 3.30 ERA is very lucky.
THIRD BASE
Yunel Escobar, LAA at TEX ($3,300): Escobar has a .335 wOBA against left-handed pitching for his career and gets Derek Holland in Arlington. That's a plus hitters' park and Escobar has a .412 wOBA this season against lefties this season. Holland has struggled at home this season, giving up a .335 wOBA to right-handed hitters and is part of the game sporting the highest over/under of the night at 9.5 runs.
SHORTSTOP
Francisco Lindor, CLE at CHI ($3,900): You'd be hard pressed to find a better shortstop than Lindor, who has been on fire over the last week. He owns a 1.111 OPS over the last seven days and that doesn't include his two stolen bases. The matchup against Mat Latos is better than you would think, as he gave up a .344 wOBA to left-handed hitters last year.
OUTFIELD
Juan Lagares, NYM at WAS ($2,000): If the decision is made to pay up for Clayton Kershaw (and rightfully so), there's going to be the need to find some punt plays. Lagares fits that description at the minimum price, provided he's in the lineup, as he has hit left-handed pitching to the tune of a .324 wOBA, and while that's decent, it's worth noting he has gone 11-for-29 with a 1.075 OPS against Gio Gonzalez. Again, check that he's in the lineup.
Mitch Moreland, TEX vs. LAA ($2,900): Like Odor, the numbers with the lefty-righty matchup are in favor and Moreland has raked southpaws. Last season, he sported a .372 wOBA against right-handed pitching and this is a good game to target hitters. Tropeano has an ERA over 4.00 this month May, suggesting he's in for a beating tonight on the road.
Brandon Guyer, TB at MIA ($3,400): The price isn't cheap but there's a few different reasons why: Guyer is batting .313 on the season, a .424 wOBA against lefties and he should be hitting leadoff once again. As noted with Pearce, the Rays have the fifth-best wOBA against left-handed pitching (.343 wOBA), so a stack isn't a bad idea.
