FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards

Kyrie Irving, BOS at HOU ($8,500): It's hard to understand why Irving's price hasn't crept closer to $10,000, as he continues to play at an extremely high level. Not only does he have at least 35 fantasy points in six straight games, but Irving is averaging 43.7 fantasy points per game in that span. He leads the Celtics in usage, shots taken and minutes played, and showed just how dangerous he can be against this up-tempo Houston team already, as he collected 26 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in his one game against them this season.

Goran Dragic, MIA vs. DET ($6,900): Dragic is another baffling price, as he's been outperforming his price tag for weeks. In fact, Dragic has at least 27 fantasy points in nine of his last 10 games, as he's averaging 38.4 fantasy points per game in those nine outings. Detroit is really struggling against point guards right now, allowing the second-most fantasy points to the position over the last 10 games. That was clear when Dragic dropped 53.4 fantasy points against them just last month.

Marcus Smart, BOS at HOU ($4,700): Smart has provided a nice floor for a player south of $5,000, as FanDuel has been slow to react to his return to action. Smart missed about a month due to a hand issue, but he's scored at least 21 fantasy points in all four games since his return. That's great consistency from a $4,700 player, and he could be asked to play big minutes Saturday to guard James Harden. That was the case the last time these teams played, as Smart accrued 40.7 fantasy points in 34 minutes of action on December 28.

Forwards

Blake Griffin, DET at MIA ($7,400): This price is too cheap for someone of Griffin's ilk, as a recent slump has lowered it to this intriguing number. His 39 fantasy points per game already provide fantastic value at this price, with that already exceeding 5X value. Over the last two games, Griffin has collected a combined 20 points, 19 rebounds and 16 assists.

Justise Winslow, MIA vs. DET ($4,200): Winslow has been starting recently for the Heat, as they have a gluttony of injuries to several role players, including Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington. With that pair -- along with Bam Adebayo -- out Saturday, Winslow could again be in line for increased minutes. He's played at least 28 minutes in two of his last three games, and he averaged over 35 fantasy points in those two outings.

Rudy Gay, SAN vs. LAL ($4,800): With LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard out, Gay should find himself in an increased role. He provided 41 fantasy points in 24 minutes of action last time out, and that minutes total could creep into the 30's Saturday. He also has a strong matchup, with the Lakers ranking 27th in points allowed and dead-last in fantasy points allowed to small forwards.

Centers

Andre Drummond, DET at MIA ($10,000): When looking at the fantasy averages for centers on Saturday's slate, Drummond's 45.4 fantasy points per game tops everyone by a mile. That alone makes him a great bet to reach 5X value, as he's averaging 15.5 points, 18.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.5 blocks in his two games against Miami this season. That's 55 fantasy points per game, and he'll likely be asked to play heavy minutes to combat Hassan Whiteside in the paint. Nikola Jokic is also priced at $10,000, but he's barely cracking 40 fantasy points per game.

Al Horford, BOS at HOU ($6,100): It's rare to see a player who's averaging over 32 fantasy points barely cracking $6,000, but a recent slump has lowered Horford to this affordable price. Prior to this four-game slump, Horford had scored at least 24 fantasy points in all but three games this season, establishing himself as one of the most reliable centers in the league. That's an incredible floor from a $6,100 player, and he faces a Houston defense that's really struggling against centers of late.
