Grizzlies Dominate Pelicans In Memphis
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the visiting New Orleans Pelicans, 132-111, at FedEx Forum on Friday evening.

The Grizzlies jumped out to a great start and led 44-25 after one quarter. The Pelicans tightened up their defense in the second but the Grizzlies managed to increase their advantage to 20, heading into the break. The hosts kept the pressure on in the third and outscored the Pelicans by nine, to make it a 29-point deficit going into the final frame. The Pelicans put up a fight in the fourth but it was too little, too late as the Grizzlies cruised to the home win.

Dillon Brooks led the way for the Grizzlies with 25 points, two rebounds and four assists, in 29 minutes. Ja Morant totaled 23 points, four rebounds and 11 assists, while Jaren Jackson added 20 points, four rebounds, three blocks and a steal. The Grizzlies shot 52 percent from the field, including 18-of-38 from deep.

Meanwhile, Trey Murphy led the Pelicans with 21 points, three rebounds and a steal, in 26 minutes off the bench. Zion Williamson followed up with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal, while Herbert Jones added 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. The Pelicans shot 43 percent from the field, including 10-of-31 from long range.

The Pelicans (11-8) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Thunder on Monday. The Grizzlies (11-8) take on the Knicks in New York on Sunday.
