This article is part of our Start vs. Sit series.
START:
Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado - The last time he faced a Pac-12 opponent Richardson went off for 284 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Don't expect that kind of performance again, but somewhere in between that and the rest of his games this season is possible. Stanford should get up early, forcing the Buff's offense to air it out.
Ronnie Wingo, RB, Arkansas - Although both teams in this SEC matchup are ranked No. 10 and No. 15 respectively, we could be looking at a blowout here. Auburn's defense isn't stopping anybody right now, and that shouldn't change against Arkansas this weekend. Expect Arkansas get a lead and run the ball, with Wingo being the benefactor.
Tevin Washington, QB, Georgia Tech - Washington has been a unique fantasy player this season. He has one of the highest yards-per-completion averages in the conference (19.5), but one of the fewest attempts-per-game averages. He has scored four rushing touchdowns, but does not accrue a lot of rushing yards. Besides being a statistical enigma, he has been a solid fantasy quarterback. Expect that to continue this week against a Maryland defense that surrenders 412.5 yards per game.
Jaxon Shipley, WR, Texas - Shipley had his best performance of the season last week and will look to improve on it against Oklahoma this Saturday. While the Sooners defense is stout, Iowa State, last week's opponent, is no slouch in the secondary, either. Texas figures to trail in this game and will

While the Sooners defense is stout, Iowa State, last week's opponent, is no slouch in the secondary, either. Texas figures to trail in this game and will try to find Shipley deep.
Josh Cooper, WR, Oklahoma State - Justin Blackmon is, of course, the big dog in the Oklahoma State receiving corps, but don't overlook Cooper this week. Kansas brings one of the worst defenses in college football to the table. There should be plenty of scoring opportunities to go around, making Cooper a nice flex play.
Mike Ball, RB, Nevada - Ball was stopped in his tracks last week against Boise State. Don't expect the same to happen in this matchup with UNLV, as the Rebels defense is much more forgiving. Aside from last week's poor showing, Ball averages more than five yards a carry. He is also unchallenged as the lead back for the Wolf Pack. Start Ball with confidence this week.
SIT:
Rodney Stewart, RB, Colorado - Stewart has been frequenting the "sit" list this season. It is disappointing to see such a talented running back limited by an overall poor team. His O-line hasn't given him any room to run this season, and that won't change this week against Stanford. Consider other options, if possible.
Silas Redd, RB, Penn State - Redd was seeing a steady decline in performance prior to last week's matchup against Indiana. It will be hard for him to build on that against a fresh Hawkeyes defense coming off of their bye week. Do not expect much from Redd this weekend.
Chris Givens, WR, Wake Forest - Givens is an elite talent and, normally, a must-start at wide receiver. The reason behind benching him this week is his opponent, Florida State. The Seminoles have a strong secondary and will be focused on shutting down Givens due to Wake Forest's lack of depth at the position. Consider benching Givens this week if better alternatives are available.
Dan Persa, QB, Northwestern - Persa made his 2011 debut last week and threw for four touchdowns. But he had to leave the game in the fourth after re-injuring the same foot that kept him on the sidelines for so long. Although he said he will play this Saturday against Michigan, you might be left holding the bag if you start him and he has to leave the game early.
Chris Rainey, RB, Florida - We all saw what happened to Rainey against a brutal Alabama defense last weekend. It doesn't get any easier this week against one of the toughest defenses in the game, LSU. Add the tough matchup to the fact that John Brantley will be out for this game, which will undoubtedly shift all of LSU's defensive attention to Rainey. Keep Rainey on the bench for this matchup.
Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State - Carr has provided some fantasy value this season, throwing for 10 touchdowns. But most of his success has come against inferior opponents. In two games against tough defenses (Cal, Nebraska) he only threw for 404 yards and two touchdowns combined. This week, he faces another strong opponent in Boise State. Keep Carr in the garage this week.
